    Default Suzuki Liana

    Hello all,

I'm really in a mood to buy a Suzuki Liana (RXI) - second hand but wherever I go and whoever I ask they all say that the car is not good and that I shouldn't buy it. Uptil now I havn't been able to get a full and complete answer to this. Pretty much everyone has given me no reason at all for saying that the car is bad but have only said its BAD, thats it.

Also one thing that I have heard however is that its engine is weak and its hard to find a mechanic who knows the car well enough.

Is this true and are there any other reasons why I should not buy this car?

The other option would be Cultus (but please don't talk about that, only focus on Liana).

Thanks a lot and would love to know your answers!

Wow, I wasn't expecting this many positive replies about this car given what I've heard about it.
Guys I don't think we should compare this to a 04 or 05 City since that car will already be around 5 yrs old and you can buy an 08 Liana for the same price.
If you ask me a car like Cultus (which so many people recommend) is really very overrated, os gari may kiya esi khas cheez ho jo har banday nay rakhi hoi hai.
Second given its price range I would say its an excellent car. Cultus, you pay too much and get too little. Vitz is a bit expnsive too now a days and since its imported its out of the question. Corrolla 07-06 is more than 9 lacs so again out of the question. Alto and Mehran can't direclty be in the competition so in my opinion its a great deal for the price.
This is really what I wanted to confirm and given what the current owners of the car have said so far, I'm quite impressed.

This is how liana scores over city:

    1. ABS
    2. Better Interior (some guys wont agree but i have 05 vti and i think it is better than that)

    3. Traction Control (not in RXI)
    4. Immobilizer (you dont want you car to get stolen do you?)
    5. Factory Fitted CNG

I don't know why people do not like it......

Regarding my point of Liana's interior:

    Civic

And they are not even in same category of cars... but i am just comparing the interior only..

Civy lovers, no hard feelings I too like my civic a lot !!!!

I very much agree, I really like Civic from its exterior design but on the inside they've wasted to much space and have compromised too many features in terms of design.

Liana really takes the Win over many cars for its interior, especially the red look it gives at night.

Also I don't know if its just me but has anyone noticed that the meter of Civic is really really bright at night, so bright that it takes your attention away from the road?

Also thanks for listing out the features of LXI! I thought they only gave you rims and ABS.

Well that is not a problem as you can easily adjust its brightness to your liking..

One thing though, if you are going for any car, just make sure that you do not buy any abused car otherwise no matter whatever you go for, you will end up biting your nails...

    And you are most welcome..

    Dear Brother

Liana is an excellent car. I bought 2008 RXI cng 20000KM driven car. Now i have driven 8000 km. It is very stable smooth, brakes are good.Suspensions are a little hard but they reduce body roll hence improving road grip on corners And it can also touch 180 kmph on gas according to some vids on pak wheels. the only problem i face is its acceleration on 2 nd gear on CNG. I asked a mechanic about that he said " the ECU of your car has old version and it needs to be updated by paksuzuki it is just a software update and free to update if your car is under warranty" i have not updated yet but please tell me if any one has done it.

    Thanks

It takes 8,460 bolts to assemble an automobile, and one nut to scatter it all over the road.

no doubut about liana's features - but thanks to pak suzuki, liana asks for too much maintenance and i have even personally experined it with Liana RXI-CNG. Pakwheels is full of posts with owners crying about various engine related issues - dont wanna start another fight but if you say honda parts are expensive, civic and city can easily do 200,000km without a single problem and only on routine maintenance while you cannot imagine that with liana

100k done on liana rxi cng with very minor maintainence, Liana is an excellent car mostly problematic cars are either rent a cars, govt vehicles or company provided vehicles, dont call cng related issues the reason for failure of a car 90% Hondas owned on Pakwheels are petrol and keep one thing in mind petorl cars dont create trouble. Put cng in hondas and try crossing 100k without maintainence.

Poster go for one good maintained liana 06 rxi cng in excellent condition wont cost less then 725 to 750.

lol!! as for honda i guess u did not read ahmadbilal's city doing 100,000+ and my cousin's 2002 vti oriel prosmatec 225,000 and 99% on CNG.

As for Liana, it was bought by my younger bro "brand new" and at 4,000 it had:

    1. Clutch bearing noise
    2. All indicators stopped working and it was not just a fuse problem
    3. Radiator leaked
    4. CNG SIS Kit developed problems, car's pickup was almost gone
    5. Clutch pedal giving noises like old mehran
