    Default Liana 1.6 (Info needed)

    AoA Guyz,

I need some expert opinion about 1.6 Japan assembled Liana with manual transmission. A friend has searched out the car for me, what I need to know is that is it a good choice as 2nd car? It has CNG installed and the current onwer claims that it does not give and problem at all.

The reason to buy is that the car is good value for money, it has ABS, immobilizer and all standard stuff such as power windows, steering, rectartable/power side mirrors.

Please note that its not 1.3l liana so I need to know if all the myths/problem stand true for this one too?

Resale is not my biggest worry..

    Thanks!!!!

Dunoe about CNG but those 15'' rims that come along it sure make it look the size of a civic or a rolla,

it doesnt has side retractable mirror (factroy fitted) after market is some thing else, altho they are powered.
Get over the fact that Xli lacks power windows, Its an Xli because it lacks thoose features or else it would be a Gli or an Altis if had all the goodies.

Excellent value for money. if it is in good condition and the price is right, go for it. Race it against a 1.8 Civic and see wha
    t happens

Just got back in after seeing the car, overall the looks are above avg, seller is asking 850 for it, the interior looks a bit dirty, on petrol it takes off, but on cng its no way near the pleasure i had on an ex ride 2000 vti (both 1.6l and vti being 10 years old).

Anyhow speed is not the issue, What really have disappointed me is that its 1.6l car, made and japan and it does not have any airbag, on top of that, it lacks another important feature of ABS (even the local assembled Lxi has it).

Don't you guys think it is amazing? the PK model have ABS and JDM does not

    Opinions are welcome...

Thanks to all for precious inputs...

DUde read what he wrote, he didnt even get the feel of his old 2000 Civic and ur saying compare it with 1.8L Civic ya rite hahaha

@poster, its worth no more 650-700 max. its a 5 yr old car, in 850 u can find a 5 year old Honda / Toyota

We sold our 2008 Rxi CNG in prestine condition for 745k,

So the car ure saying is a 1.6L (lower resale according to people and is a 2005-2006 Model)

finaly its probably a indonesian/Thai import and not a Japanese import because all the APVs are thai origin. So its my guess that Imported Lianas are also Thai or Indonesian

It was 2006 model, check out the pdf on following link, it seems some of the 1.6l variants (if not all) do not have ABS.

    http://www.aaa.asn.au/roadtests/reports/401.pdf

There's paragraph in it that says:

The braking system of the Liana consists of
front disc brakes and rear drum brakes. While
brake pedal feel was good, ABS would be a
welcome addition as it was very easy to lock
the wheels when braking on a wet surface.
