"Muscle car" is an American term that is used for American cars from 60's and 70's. (TransAm, Mustang, Camaro, Chargers) These cars were built well, had bigger engines, a lot of torque and a lot of horsepower. Back in those days you could call them super cars. These cars were used in famous Hollywood movies and shows like "Night Rider" and "smoky n bandits". Still today they are being used in movies like "Fast and furious".

Camaro was never a pony car. Mustang is the only one that has "pony addition". Word Mustang means a wild breed of horse and that is why car is known as PONY.

In actuality, Trans Am, Camaro, Challenger and Mustang are all pony cars. The termed pony car was coined for the Ford Mustang not because it had a horse for an emblem, but because it was a smaller entry in the sea of regular 'intermediate' performance cars of that era. The Camaro, Firebird, Challenger, etc were competition for the Mustang.
