    Finally got a forum where I can spit out my hater for altis.
    Recently drove top of the line variant of altis 1.8. Sr cruistronic
    The worst ever car I ever drove in my life.
    Being having height of 6ft. My knees were touching the dash.
    All the plastic was doing chik chik and the leg space in front as well as in the back was pathetic.
    Ac was seriously not working and I was sweating in the car.
    Car was driven only 6000 kms and was 2010 model.
    And the sheer power of 1.8 vvti engine shocked me. :p

    I was amazed afterwards that ppl are paying own for this model.
    Dash is from 88 corolla. Built quality is pathetic. Car is under powered. It doesn't feel like its a 1.8 vvti engine.

    There is no damn comparison with a honda civic. 8th gen civic is way more better and comfi from every aspect.

    Bottom line. *** shiiit car. ***

    the above quoted reference is a good to compare Civic 1.8 with Corolla Altis 1.8. By the Way this site shows more width and more curb weight for Civic than Altis.

    Dear all! i'm not an owner of either of Civic or Altis and being a neutral person One thing i could'nt stop laughing is that Corolla Xli/Gli (1.3 L)and Altis 1.8L share the same suspension/body the diffrences are power and other operational features. So can we compare Civic reborn suspension/body with that of an Xli?? obviously Civic is way better than Xli so it shows Civic must be winning over Altis. Owners/experts know better.

    This is the exact reason why Altis is facing hard time when it comes to sales.

    @race_addicted

    Sir Corolla is world leader in C segment sedans and its qualities are not high tech parts and innovative technologies.

    It relies on tried and trusted old designs, cheap parts/manufacturing, better dealer network, low price and very very extensive platform sharing.

    That is why the age group of Corolla buyers is higher.

    In Pakistan Civic's price and parts are insanely expensive and I would buy an XLI any day for that reason, at least they are giving us the flavor of new generation manufacturing, design and innovations at a somewhat mainstream level, and is far superior then 10 and 14 years old Cultus and Alto.

    Even in base Civic and Top grade, there is a 400K difference which is solely for equipment.

    Rationally a City A/T is a much better car for less money then base Civic.

    @airomerix

    This is the exact reason why Altis is facing hard time when it comes to sales.
    Altis is selling low because the high recession in local economy and local road conditions, no one wants to pay extra for leather interior, A/T and S/R and pay high taxes on 1.8 engine and more fuel costs,still they sell much more then top Civic, previous generations SE Saloon and Altis uses the same formula and they were sold in good numbers.

    Civic came in 2006 and Corolla in 2008 ...........A person who spends 20 lac wanna look different on road than a person with 14 lac rupee car this is not an option in altis .Xli and altis look pretty much same and thats the main reason in addition to other for preferring civic.....Except for minor differences there is hardly any difference in day to day driving of these cars..same is true for cabin space.....as mentioned corolla has better rear leg room .cannot comment on front leg space....

    Altis is not that much bad or underpowered.
    One of the most difficult things in the world is to know how to do something, and to watch without comment, somebody else do it incorrectly.
