    Being having height of 6ft. My knees were touching the dash.
    All the plastic was doing chik chik and the leg space in front as well as in the back was pathetic.
    Ac was seriously not working and I was sweating in the car.
    Car was driven only 6000 kms and was 2010 model.
    And the sheer power of 1.8 vvti engine shocked me. :p

    I was amazed afterwards that ppl are paying own for this model.
    Dash is from 88 corolla. Built quality is pathetic. Car is under powered. It doesn't feel like its a 1.8 vvti engine.

    There is no damn comparison with a honda civic. 8th gen civic is way more better and comfi from every aspect.

    Bottom line. *** shiiit car. ***
    Very biased comments. And can betray any1 who has no knowledge of cars!! Bottom Line... you would be a WINNER!!

    None of the faults u are claiming, are present in actual!! Probably the car you checked was badly raped!!
    First off, please show us any 88 corolla who has the same dash like Altis! You will sure get a +1 from all members!!
    Front space is enough! im 6.2" and iam very comfortable in it! never experienced such difficulty!
    Airconditioning is great!! I always keep fan at level 3, and not only me, but the passengers at back feels comfortable.
    No issues regarding acceleration! the car has excellent pickup!! and mine is Automatic!!

    P.S there is no way im hater of above mentioned vehicles but Toyota is always a winner when it comes to reliability, economy and value for money concepts! Yes, if and ever my company is financing me a car including its maintainence, i will give a go ahead to HONDA!! Its a *shashka* (atleast for me) no offence meant!

    @Poster
    Never checked the rear seats so cannot comment

    Civic has more legroom but Corolla is slightly wider. As far as Altis being underpowered and A/C not working is concerned I can only laugh

    Sir

    Correction, Normally i only see 1 Altis in 15 Top of the Line Oriel Prosmatecs.
    The ratio of Oriel PROSMATEC Civics to base Civic is also nearly same, even that 15 in 1 Corolla will have a higher sale number then a base Civic.

    @khizarsiddiqui

    Sir its only a myth that Corollas are more reliable, bullet proof machines, the standards of Indus and Atlas are pretty much same, I can assure you that, driving nearly all their cars since beginning.

    Altis engine is more powerful and smooth, that is a fact, and this shape is the best Corolla model they have produced in 10 gens.

    Dear, unfortunately that isnt a myth in my case. i personally had bad experiences with my civics! Firstly with my 95 EX and then with 2005 VTi. Had to replace the complete ECU and wiring of VTi. And 95 never remained a reliable car! These cars were not brand new btw! I was the 2nd owner of these vehicles. While i have a 99 model corolla, all u need to do is to fill its tank and go where ever you want! the car has touched around 200,000km now, still going strong!

    There is no way im against Honda or anything like that! As i said eralier, if n ever i get a chance, i will give a straight go to Civic! But yes will NEVER EVER recommend to buy a USED HONDA!! its really a pain in the a** when it comes to maintenance!

    You said it!! +1

    Sir Corolla is world leader in C segment sedans and its qualities are not high tech parts and innovative technologies.

    It relies on tried and trusted old designs, cheap parts/manufacturing, better dealer network, low price and very very extensive platform sharing.

    That is why the age group of Corolla buyers is higher.

    In Pakistan Civic's price and parts are insanely expensive and I would buy an XLI any day for that reason, at least they are giving us the flavor of new generation manufacturing, design and innovations at a somewhat mainstream level, and is far superior then 10 and 14 years old Cultus and Alto.

    Even in base Civic and Top grade, there is a 400K difference which is solely for equipment.

    Rationally a City A/T is a much better car for less money then base Civic.

    @airomerix

    Altis is selling low because the high recession in local economy and local road conditions, no one wants to pay extra for leather interior, A/T and S/R and pay high taxes on 1.8 engine and more fuel costs,still they sell much more then top Civic, previous generations SE Saloon and Altis uses the same formula and they were sold in good numbers.

    Regards
    Correct! I fully agree. And I dont know y ppl compare the two when both are based on a different ideology altogether.

    Sir, I wud beg to differ. I have kept both the cars and not once. I have had 3 Civics and 2 Corollas at different point in times. I maintain my car with exceptional care. There is a hell of a difference in RELIABILITY and LIFE of both the cars, even in PKDM models. Maximm units sold (Corolla) prooves my point. U may differ but thats wat I have seen while keeping both ...

    Thnx!

    Sirs

    I have been keeping both Civics and Corollas since the start of manufacturing, both are working fine.

    @khizarsiddiqui

    These cars were not brand new btw!
    Sir that can be the sole reason, no one sells a good Honda and it is costly to keep good maintenance of Hondas, because of expensive parts.

    @vakas85

    Sir Corolla sales figures are high because of low cost of parts and that again increase its resale, and that is how the Cycle goes, in reality Accord is much superior in built quality, technology and comfort/handling but the resale and sales figure are nothing because maintenance and parts are expensive due to superior technology.

    In reality all these technologies are not meant to capitalize on our broken roads and dusty/humid environment, which are only suitable for a 4 X 4

    If we start to use the torsion beam in Civic and Accord and if CL7/CL9 Accords suspensions and power steering would be interchangeable with a CA4 (1985) Accord, it would be more famous in Pakistan.

    My brother is running an EXI 2005 on rent, 148K km done, using Shell HX3 (laal daba) and guard filters, stock wheel covers with general XP2000 tires and stock seat cover and Head Unit, still the car is working fine.
