    The difference is noticeable, but for that you need to have cars with identical condition. A well kept well tuned EXi may be faster than an ill tuned and abused VTi.

    Yes. I've driven a number of EXi and VTi varients of both pre and post 2001.

    Its more than that ofcourse. On your scale I'll rate it 13/16.

    But just wait for others to pour their input as well.

    VTi in any case for me offers more value for money when talking about second hand cars. A couple of PWers even call EXi only a 'half-civic'.

    difference of 100cc shouldn't feel much.. i 've driven Exi prosmatic (2004 model).. on CNG it sucked but on petrol pick was amazing...

    prosmatic and manual is also the point to be noticed...

    @badar7

    Sir there is a lot of difference both in subjective and quantitative terms.

    At least 2 seconds flat from 0-100km/hr on manual, if you want the numbers.

    A VTI PROSMATEC can easily beat a Manual EXI no matter how good it is, in condition and how good are you in shifting the clutch.

    Otherwise a VTI Manual on CNG can keep up with EXI PROSMATEC on Petrol.

    The power difference will be very visible once you have passed the 150km/hr barrier.

    The best part is that VTI 7th gen has ABS on all 4 corners and bigger tires with EBD to deaccelerate you safely.

    Correct me if I am wrong, if you can buy any VTI up to 2006, the 1.8 has the most acceleration and shortest time from 0-100km/hr but the Eagle Eye Civic is easier to control and handle.

    So I would suggest, you go for the 04-06 Eagle Eye Hardtop manual, but a oriel or PROSMATEC is also good if its in better condition then the hardtop as some people drives VTI roughly.

    Regards

    @OP If talking about 2001~06 shape then there is a difference.
    Im assuming that the case with pre 01 models will be the same.
    EXI is having a 1500cc engine producing around 110hp
    VTI is having a 1600cc engine producing around 130hp with VTEC (However VTEC in this engine was used to improve fuel economy.)
    Rest you can calculate it by yourself.
    Cheers.

    @badar7

    Sir the engine used in VTI was a 1.6L D16w9 with a 3 stage VTEC and not a VTEC E like D15Z series or the 12/16v L15 VTEC of Steermatic which are for fuel economy.

    EXI has a non VTEC 1.5L D15y7 engine which is optimized for low end bottom torque (3000-4000 RPM) for City driving and it is more fuel efficient in real world.
