    Default Pedal in E220

Hi guys, whats the highlighted pedal used for in Mercedes E220 2003. I know its not a foot rest and not a clutch pedal as the car is not manual.

    I'm just curious to know.

    P.S. The car's not mine.

It is called Parking brake not hand brake.
Even if you are on the right track, you will get run over if you just sit there.

    Thanks for the info.
I was confused about its usage.
One of the most difficult things in the world is to know how to do something, and to watch without comment, somebody else do it incorrectly.

    Its the E-Brake.
The same Emergency brake which we know as hand brake in normal cars.
(Hand brake is only when lever is in hand).

Actually, there's a lever below the steering wheel you would press to disengage the parking brake. Our '91 300E, and '01 S430 both had the same system, so this one would have it too. It's just not pictured.

Might be electronic, seeing as actuators control everything else in the car anyway.
