Default Civic '05 exi OR City 2010 ?

please suggest which would be better ?

A honda civic exi 2005 OR the brand new honda city 2010 ?

i am being offered the civic in very nice condition and price !!!

the budget, round about '13', so there is room for minor work (if required) on the '05 civic.

Please back your advice with reasoning !!

Go for a city. Old cars will have problems no matter how good they have been maintained, its better to go for a new one. The new city is great.

I would suggest you to go for new city, cause first of it all its very hard to find a 05 civic in good and genuine condition with low mileage. Even if you find one, chances are that it would be running on CNG and will have to be maintained carefully because of the wear and tear that it may have over the years.. new city will give you peace of mind for atleast 2 yrs in this regard. it wil be kinda maintenance free for a yr or two. and when you plan to resale it after some time it would be less depreciated as compared to old civic.
    rest choice is yours.
    peace.

Sir if you are getting a good Civic go for it, else buy a City, a 0 meter car has its own charm.

Just throughly check the Power steering, suspensions and engine condition, everything else is manageable.

Also drive on CNG and petrol once to check the mileage and performance.

The Civic regardless how well its been taken care of will be a 5 year old car at the end of the day. The person who has owned it for these 5 years has enjoyed the maintenance free or minimal maintenance period and you will most likely start running into repairs going forward.

I personally was in a similar dilemma and ended up going for a 0 meter City because it seemed most Civic's in the market were either heavily touched up or the meters were reversed/noisy suspensions etc. The clean/decent ones were all 12lacs+

A brand new car is a brand new car, comparing the latest of the cars with a car which is five years old is not doing it justice.
if you buy the city you would have better engine technology, peace of mind that your car is new, no hidden expenditure, and obv. the smell of the new car which is pretty intriguing lol
on the other hand if you buy a second hand car which i doubt you would get in the bestest of conditions, you might end up playing with your hopes and money.
it is a wise choice to buy the new city..it is a great car with a great feel to it

Sir there are also good Civics in Karachi, my 05 EXI PROSMATEC is 80K, CNG on 50K, without a single touch, Honda Maintained.

My CEO also has a VTI Oriel UG PROSMATEC 06, Honda South maintained, 50K Petrol, not a single scratch, schauffer driven.

If one cannot maintain his car he will have to buy a new car after every 2-4 years or ask the same question again.
