after every year or year and half if the car is on cng u will need to redo rear suspension
32 rubber bushes (RBI make is the best)
if the car is not overheated or damaged it will serve u well.
    once overheated its screwed
Life is short and very unpredictable just like a Quarter mile .....

Have a Civic 2000 VTi (Petrol)

Not a single problem till now MashAllah.. never got overheated till now!

Just change its oil, oil filter and airfilter after every 3000kms and it won't give you a problem and try to avoid CNG if possible!

Sir my director has a 96 VTI A/T, 99K on Petrol, absolutely no problem, maintained by Honda South.

Changed timing belt, coolant, whole intake assembly (dholki), fuel filter, Transmission oil, brake pads, power steering and brake oil at 80K km as per the owner's manual, periodic maintenance is done at every 5,000km or 6 months whichever comes first, includes complete service and air and oil/filter inspection/change, previously using Hondas rebadged caltex havoline, now Honda 5W 20 full synthetic oil by Total lubricants (subsidary of Honda) at every 15K km or 1 year whichever comes first.

    Using Caltex Petrol.

Suspensions/ steering are in perfect condition (probably due to use on petrol).

    Regards

apart from the usual service items i've had no issues with my 99, and it was a big improvement over my 96 (specially the interior trim).

but as hashim said, the bushes neede to changed as well as they got ruined over the year (Specially when the car was shifted to KHI).

Overhauling can only be checked through a mechanic. For that, one might need to open the head of the engine.
Car is wonderful. Handling the best amongst all due to complete double-wishbone suspension. Bushes are not a problem if driven with care. Spending around 10-12 K upon them after 2-3 years (may be more) should not be an issue. Generally not many would get that engine overhauled as for hondas mechanics always advise replacement. Overhauling is too costly and not so reliable as people here are not at home with overhauling them.
When you buy one, make sure to get underneath and check the bushes and if they are not in a good position, get the price reduced Get engine mounts checked also because after this much time, they might need to be replaced. As far as I know, its parts are amongst the cheapest these days in the market and at Bilal Gunj here.
