hi-octane shows its charms only for engines that have fuel maps and timing maps designed for hi-octane fuel, the ecu deliberately having to tone down everything just to keep the engine running on the inferior fuel we use.
which is also why a carby car will have the least change when run on hi-octane fuel - because it has no ecu and it has been adjusted manually to run properly on regular fuel. if its adjusted to run on hi-octane fuel, it will knock like anything on regular fuel, death to the engine....
