Default What's the right Fuel Consumption ?

    Hi,

Can anyone provide a real-world average fuel consumption of the following cars....no guesstimates...only tested figures. This is to help eliminate confusion/ wrong expectation from various engines.

Fuel consumption with AC, within city drive:

    Toyota Corolla 1.3L (VVTi)
Toyota Corolla Altis 1.8L Manual (VVTi)
Toyota Corolla Altis 1.8L Automatic (VVTi)
    ----------
    Honda City 1.3L Manual (i-Vtec)
    Honda City 1.3L Automatic (i-Vtec)
    ------------
    Honda Civic 1.8L Manual (i-Vtec)
    Honda Civic 1.8L Automatic (i-Vtec)
    -------------

For the driving style consider a 4/5th gear; 10-15Km normal drive.

Everyone's car is differently maintained, and most importantly differently driven. Some have brand new cars whereas some have 2 year old cars.
Due to these factors you cannot get an exact average, most people will have mixed averages so this thread doesn't make alot of sense. Though if you want an estimation then you can be given that.

BTW, there's nothing like wrong expectation.
If you live in islamabad and get 11km/l in your civic, it doesnt mean that if i get lower then that here in lahore its a 'wrong mileage'.

    Same for my 2009 GLI.

1.8L Oriel PROSMATEC Petrol only company maintained gives 9km/l with A/C in stop and go driving.

With a full tank (55L) Corolla 1.3L ran a total of 500Km with 50% AC usage....that comes around 9KM/L......the car have 205/65/15 tyres.

Honda city manual with full tank (42L) ran a total of 400km with 100% AC usage....that comes around 9.5KM/L.....the car have 185/65/15 tyres.

Both car averages are of in-city drive....the averages will be retested during December again.

Running 195/65/15 on 1.3 VVT-i on M2 with AC the mileage recorded was around 15km/litre.
    The speed was around 120~130km/h.
One of the most difficult things in the world is to know how to do something, and to watch without comment, somebody else do it incorrectly.

I have been intensively Driving City 2014 1.3L MT for some time now. I am also very savvy in terms of fuel economy. Here are my observations. These are based upon fuel top ups not in car fuel monitoring which is normally misleading. Normally in car fuel monitoring is 10% higher reading than actual.
100 KM average no braking on motor way - 17.6 KM/L
110 KM average no braking on motor way - 16.6 KM/L
120 KM average no braking on motor way - 15.5 KM/L
130 KM average no braking on motor way - 14.2 KM/L

Normal city range really depends upon style and stoppages. Donot Expect it to be more than 13.5 KM/L in any case in city
