Default Strange problem with my ALTO. Need Help !!!

    Dear Pakwheelrs,

I bought ALTO 2008 model a day back, Showing 34000 on odometer. I am facing a strange problem with my ALTO. The problem is in fact with the radiator. Yesterday i went to my mechanic to drain out my old radiator water having thick rusty water in the bottle. After draining i added new fresh water and a bottle of coolant in my radiator. Today early morning i started car and drove around 20 kms, When i reached my university i noticed that a sound like bur bur bur coming from radiator. When i opened the radiator a boiling water is coming out at very fast speed. Also continuous steam was also noticed by me and my friend. Then i filled up the water again when i came back and started my car again the problem was there and when i saw my radiator it was empty having no water in it. Again i refilled two bottles and then reached my home safely.

NOTE ! That car temperature gauge remains in between Cold and hot state which is in fact normal for any car. The gauge never showed me that car is heating up.

Guys please suggest me what would be the issues in my car ? And please also suggest me from where i can fix this issue.

Looking forward to see your suggestions/ Replies

    Cheers,
    Waqar Ahmed

    Thanks for your replies !

I visited 5-6 Different mechanics today and they all diagnosed the same thing "Gaskit". My question to all of you, Opening Head installing new gasket would it create a problem at the time when i want to sale? As half of the engine will open mechanics and experts can easily judge that car head got open before?

Secondly after getting installed new gasket, Would the car give me the same performance , Performance in a sence pickup, fuel efficency e.t.c. Because i am really satisfied with my car as it is know?

I look forward to see you replies !

    Thanks

Also i visited Suzuki Islamabad motors today to get the solution for this problem. He said that for gaskit changing and replacing with a new they charge around 15-16k. An ordinary mechanic asking for 1000 labour, 350 for orignal japnese gasket.Would it be good if i get fix gasket from ordinary mechanic?

Go to a good mechanic to change the gaskit of your car. Suzuki people are just looting.
Just make sure that the gaskit you are installing is genuine.

No. So you will have to do this either way.

Yes, the car will give you the same performance, if the gaskit is genuine and the mechanic is experienced.

you might wanna check the radiator cap... low pressure causes water to boil... also check if you can see traces of oil in the radiator water and milky mobile oil on the dip stick and oil refill cap... when cold, start the car, remove the radiator cap and see if there are bubbles forming in the water... that might give you an idea if the gasket is fried or not...

Just get the head gasket replaced by a trust-worthy mechanic. he will do a better job than suzuki guys for sure. the labor charges of ordinary mechanic you mentioned are fine.
But sir the head gasket in 350 seems cheap. i am not saying that it will not be original but try to find a better quality one from spare part shops a bit smartly. try to compare its quality with the 350 rupees one and go for it if better. since opening the head is quite a long job its better that you put a good quality gasket.
Also ask you mechanic to check if there are any leaking hose pipes and the condition of your radiator cap so that when the new gasket is placed it does not face any other heating problems. try not to buy the gasket from pak suzuki as they will rip you off.
    hope this helps.
