    Default Urgent help required! Honda civic(03 to 06) owners!!!

    AOA bros!

    Hope everyone is fine and healthy after eid holidays...

    as i am planning to buy a civic 03 in a day or two..
    can anyone tell me where i can find the engine no. under the hood
    (the chasis no is clearly written on metallic plate just above the shock absorber but engine no is not clearly visible)

    If anyone can actually indicate on an actual engine picture that wud be very helpful..
    thnks n best regards.

    how can i chk whether vtec is engaged @3000 rpm or @5000 rpm ???

    i mean what difference i shud look for while driving exi and a vti ....

    can i common man like me actually feel any difference while driving.

    not very easily, but after driving it for a while, u ll know exactly when the vtec engages... btw, it engages at 4500rpm i guess.

    @ahmadbila
    thnks...
    it means that there is not much significant difference between exi n vti (only 100cc n ABS)..
    till the time it is pushed to 4500 rpm in 1st / 2nd gear ....

    please tell me @4500 rpm wat exactly wud be felt...
    is it a real kick as some ppl say..like a sudden jump of rpm needle instantly...
    or any thing else.
    moreover..is this engine 2 stage vtec..n wat does tat actually means...
    any major advantage of vti or exi...

    note:- have gone through previous threads but cudnt find concrete answer.

    Its a bit more tricky because this model of Honda Civic VTi came with a 3-Stage VTEC D16W9 130 hp engine, and EXi came with D15Y3 110 hp engine.

    More info about 3-stage_VTEC

    3-stage VTEC - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

    There are other difference than ABS and engine like factory fitted alloys, central locking, side retractable mirrors, leather interior like door panels and seats in UG, sun roof, diver seat adjustment, dual lamp in cabin

    Bold means oreal only. oreal has it all, simple vti does not have feature mentioned in bold.

    I might have missed few..

    one more ting regarding engine and chassie number, do match the chasis number on the plate on shock mount and the fireplate of engine compartment where it is carved out or engraved whatever

    @intiz_ahmad
    thnks

    there is quite a difference b/w the two as u mentioned - 130 vs 100 hp

    but can it really be felt or checked in a certian experience..
    should i press the pedal too much or sth like tat?

    (me asking this again n again cuz had almost a bad experience
    one guy at a showroom had an exi with vti and abs stickers installed alongwith engine cover.)

    VTI & VTI Oriel are having a 1.6L VTEC engine producing around 130hp.
    Engine code is d16w9.
    EXI is having a 1.5L non-VTEC engine producing around 110hp.
    Engine code is d15y3.
    The VTEC feel you are talking is not that prominent in these D series engines.
    The VTEC kick mostly is felt in H,B and K series where it is mainly used to increase the performance.
    In D series this VTEC is used to give better fuel economy.
    One of the most difficult things in the world is to know how to do something, and to watch without comment, somebody else do it incorrectly.

    @daniyalahmad
    thnks for info

    this means tat if vtec in a regular 03 vti is for better economy..
    then its economy shud be better than a regular exi car..
    is it the case or not!!!
    and if it is than how much difference in terms of %
    which one wud u prefer only on the basis of engine..
