Default Lack of Driving Ethics.....Serious Problem of our Society

    Dear all,

    There r some serious issues we r facing on roads in our daily life, launching of this thread dosn't mean to hurt anyone but to spread awareness in our community, as per my observation em raising the following points;

1-Badly use of unnecessary Horn and dippers and High Beam (mostly by Commercial Vehicles and Corolla users) in XLI,s and 2OD,s in Black and White Color having black ribbon on the back)

2-Mostly these vahicles prefer to drive on Right Lane and do not give way if anyone wants to overtake.

3- Most of the time they prefer to overtake from left side.

4- Whereever the line discipline required mostly on Check Posts or Barriers, they prefer to go beyond the line to reach early with interuption for those who r waiting in the line.

5- I have also observed that they start their journey with High Beam, even they dont bother to low the lights, i think for them the purpose of High Beam is only for more visibility and light and nothing else for others.

6-They drive with minimum Distance from other vahicles on road.

7-The most ever stupidity i seen is activation of Reverse lights with break lights.

8-Red light on signals seems to be more irritating for them, hardly they bother to stop on it, and then put their hands on Horn and High Beam on yellow light.

9-They don’t know about Speed Limits that differ place to place shown on traffic sign boards and enjoy over speeding without knowing the limitations.

Now members r welcome to post ur suggestions and comments and share your experience to take some corrective measures.

    3. Banging their doors on other cars while exiting after parking.
    4. Blocking the exit of already parked car, Specially at Shaheeh Chemists place.
    5. Continueous use of cell phone while driving.
    6. Honking and flashing behing a car then over taking from wrong lane only to stop together at the next traffic lights.
    7. Increasing noise pollution by Farter exhausts and Loud Music.

Our nation needs education and patience alot.
I nearly died because of such an idiot - I was on my motorcycle on the Gulshan-e-Iqbal Moti Mahal bridge at about 70 km/h in the 2nd from left lane, I suddenly see a car coming straight at me honking his horn and flashing his lights - it only was a split second of my looking into the right mirror to see an accelerating truck, downshifting a gear and getting out of the way of both vehicles. It was a blessing that I was riding a 440cc motorcycle. It had enough power to get me out of the situation. If it had been a CD70 or something - phool, agarbatti, fateha etc.

I so wished that the person who was driving that car be served his own deed.

people usually drive opposite on that road because they are tooooo lazy or kanjoos I believe to burn some CNG to drive another 400 yards to the proper directional change exit from Moti Mahal - they rather drive 3/4 of a km in the wrong way of high speed traffic to take the near impossible lane change exit. - that usually happens when you breed a stupid man with an equally brain dead woman.

The lack of ETHICS in general is a problem in our society, not just driving ethics.

@Xulfiqar . I agree with you . But when we point out problems and issues , we should also suggest a solution . Its always better to light a candle yourself than to curse the darkness. The problem is that there is no one to light a the candle. Every educated person has become a very good critic . Every body is discussing problems and issues but we are , at the same time , also living with these issues. We, rather , adapt to the majority bahaviour and find peace in following the majority.
Why we do not do something , why don't we correct what is wrong. We can can all do something in our own capacity.
An example of one thing we can do : Practice all the rules and regulations yourself. Try to spread awareness among your circle of friends and fellows . Gather your educated fellows and form a think tank or somthing . A forum on the web to educate people about traffic rules and road sense. Can't we do this ?

^ these full of "No ethics" people become insaan ke bache on highways/Motorways, specialy when it comes to Dubai drving. Our pakhtoon drivers (No offence to anyone belonging to a Pathan family, Its just that our interiorish truck drivers are too much in number when it comes to taxi drivers in Dubai.

The thing is that we need to start punishing people for law braking even for the minorist ones. And the law needs to be the same for each and every one. When people see others being punished each and every one of them is going to become a insaan ka bacha by them selves.

Agreed...there is lack of ethics in every field, not just driving. Pakistanis just care about 'mein pehle'.

No manners...no driving sense...no courtesy...if you drive correctly, you'll get honked at...nudged out of your lane...glared at...

No 'yield to traffic' rule applies here...no driving in a round about / square sense...no right of way sense...

been there done that with the try to work something out - I have even painted roads with marker signs showing where to swerve out of a wall and where not to turn. Nopes, nothing, nada - not even the slightest difference, they would still jam traffic and park stupidly.

I myself also teach driving to the young of my direct and further connected family, firstly going through the controls, safety then driving. literally theory and then practical test. For what, only a few percent of them actually use this information later on - and mostly just forget about it. Then they remember to call me asking for help with changing a tire or checking some fluid level.

e.g. Its a crime to block an intersection (junction) if the traffic is slow. meaning that if you are approaching the intersection and see that your vehicle cannot fit into the space ahead of the intersection - you MUST stop before the intersection. I abide this rule everytime I drive, whether be it Karachi, somewhere in the UK, Europe, middle east or the continental US. its acceptable everywhere except Karachi where some idiot will actually come from behind your car infront of your car blocking the intersection off (jamming the traffic into gridlock)

What would you do in this case, setup a schooling session for the said idiot? Im not one of those who just sit and say, Im one of those who has literally done it.

This thread was really needed here, some of the things I really hate about the people driving here:

    - When someone needs to get out of the car: They stop the car right in the middle of the road. For Christ's sake park it on the damn side! When you honk your car horn at them to move, they either show a really retarded atitude and don't bother moving at all or send one of there ''guards'' out of the car to tell you to wait to show you that you shouldn't mess with them or else.

I mean where on earth do you see people acting like that? Even other thrid world countries have proper traffic laws which the locals have to accept no matter what.

    - Special escorts: Even if it's some newphew of some so-called MNA driving with the escort vehicle behind his/her vehicle the escort vehicle won't even let you move or pass in front of them. If you try to say something, they will show what they actually are, new burgers with there old villager past.

    - Driving with ''High beams'' on: Whether it's some intensely bright-lite road or even the parking of a shopping mall where it looks like daytime with all of those street and flood light's on, they would never I repeat never ever lower there beams. If you tell them to lower your beams they would reply with they're real villager language: ''Abey kiya musibat hai tujeye?'' or ''Mein nai karaha, kiya kardogaye?''

75% percent of drivers on the roads of today haven't even drove a bicycle before, and now when they think they know how to drive they think that the road belongs to themselves.

Well . In the case stated above , I would just ignore the idiot who blocked the incoming traffic cause its one of the countless such situations we encounter during Driving in Pakistan . It a norm.
Regarding your efforts to deveolp road and traffic sense - its a good thing you've done some thing . Thats really appreaciable.

no need of all this. as someone pointed out how decently people drive on motorway and they are the same people who drive like its the end of the world on city roads. i think if we have proper law enforcement then all this will go. we already have strict traffic laws now all we need is strict implementation. imposing heavy fines for traffic rules violations will even force gadha gari riders to install back, front and indication lights

i was going to my office and on the back side of the office their is another office of a travel agent/money changer and parking was common
one day the car of travel agency owner was parked totally wrong almost taking space of 2 cars. I went inside the agency office and requested the guy on reception to park the car properly so i can park my car too he replied me gari to aisay he rahay gi app nay jo karna hay kar loo i was so pissed off i parked right at the back of his car blocking the way of every car parked in the parking and took my number plates with me.
for almost 2 hours that guy on the reception searched me and in a very furious tone said dekh loon ga main app ko and nothing actually happened for 1 long year.
since that day the car of that travel agency always parked in proper place.

Special escorts can go to hell for my case, If they are blocking the road - Im going to ask them to move whether they understand punjabi urdu, english, urdlish (DHA zabaan) - If they try to overpower me they better be prepared as I also hold some brute force.

anyways I am more of a dont argue with a dog type of person. mostly dont bother with such stupid incidents.

speaking of guards - I once saw the most beautiful incident I wanted to salute the Army, one exact same incident, guy stopped behind a car for about 4 minutes without blowing his horn, he finally blew his horn to ask the car to move, out pop some guys with automatic rifles etc to confront said person in stern language. A few minutes later a Land Cruiser of Pakistan Army arrives and escort the guards under pointed guns including the driver of the car. As soon as it happened the local people of the area told me the old person who the guards were yelling at is actually a retired veteran. nice - sahee jootay lagay honge unkey

lol, Urdlish . This is common everywhere, the people who suffer this don't say anything because they're scared of being shot at or are just plain ''Pahatos''.

One more thing i want add, may b u guys will agree with me.........

    These sort of problem has been increased since last 5 or 6 years;

Due to increase of Rent A Car trend
    and
Due to wide spread of car leasing that throws hell lot of cars on the road

Uneducated and Unethical people got more chances to do voilation on roads, even they dont have driving license,
    and
Unable to read and understand road sings and traffic signals.
