    Default Suggestion in 1.8 Million

I recently sold my 07 Civic VTi Oriel Pros. due to insurance depriciation. Now there is a big confusion.

    Budget is around 19 lacs.

    Following cars are under consideration

    Civic VTi Oriel Pros
    Total cost 1923000+80000 reg = 20 lacs

    Civic VTi Oriel Manual
    1850000+80000 = 19 lacs 30 thousand.

    Civic VTi Pros with Navigation
    1836000+80000 = 19 lac 16 thousand.

Apart from Civic, loved the new Premio 1.8L but its wayy too expensive [ie. 25 Lacs in average condition.]

Now the confusion lies in the civic options. Which one do you all think is more value for money? And keep resale in mind aswell. Since iam quite convinced that Oriel Pros has the highest resale in the market.

    Thanks

Keep in mind that White color has the highest resale value right now as its very rare to find one and very few are produced(in white)!

Suppose if you plan to get a brand new Civic VTi Oriel Pros with Navigation, it would cost you as following:
    Rs.1,923,000(Base Price) +
    Rs.50,000(Own amount) +
    Rs.50,000(Navigation System) +
    Rs.80,000(Registration) +
    abt Rs.90,000(Insurance) +
    abt Rs.30,000 (New Tyres)
    = (Approximate Prices) Rs.2,133,000(Without Insurance) , Rs.2,223,000(With Insurance)

You can clearly see that a new top of the line variant will cost one abt 21+Lacs so its out of question!!!

I would suggest you to look for a slightly used Civic VTi Oriel Pros with navigation if possible or get it installed later on.. But the main problem is there's not even a single White VTi Oriel Pros with Navigation which is slightly used available in the market!

So its hard luck to find any, on the other hand you can get a new VTi Oriel Manual or a VTi Pros!
The most feasible option would be to find a slightly used one.

The new Premio is really good and has a good interior and exterior but its quite expensive.. plus the spare parts and maintenence would remain a problem so its better to stick with our lovely Civic!
According to Karachi market ,the silver one civic has the most resale value as silver has the most benefits in colours and it wil remain best forever for resale.

If you're not planning to sell it soon, test drive an E46.

I'm not sure if there are any inline 6's available on PW, but even a very nicely kept 4 cyl 2003-2004 would be a treat to drive.

A Toyota Prius is going to cost a lot. Bought new, it's around 23-25 k USD and then it'll be subjected to plethora of colorful taxes and duties bringing it's price to the north of 50k USD. That is a lot of money and add to that the complete absence of any support for Li-ion battery technologies in Pakistan and one ends up in a pretty bad position. Better with the good old internal combustion engine.

An inline 6 is the smoothest engine this side of a V16. The E46 is a treat to drive for sure.

And @airomerix, why the hostility against Golden/Flaxen Mica color? I understand if it's a personal preference but from seeing the various civics on road in Lahore, I think it is a pretty unique color (though less unique than Habanero Red). Btw, congratulations on the quick sale of your civic. How much did you let it go for, if you don't mind me asking?
cardinal i bought a new 2011 oriel pros nav two days back in red colour/an amazing colour/and who said it has low resale/ i sold 2010 oriel pros in red w/o nav in 1988000 in october last year within 15 days

I dont think you have much options, as you sold ur car just for the insurance depreciation thingy, u would most probably be looking for the latest possible model car, atleast similar or later model of the car you just sold.

Going for a brand new car is your only option,

Btw not comparing Corolla or Civic in any way, but i found Altis auto to be more responsive then the Civic Pt, just had 5-10km drive, altho Civic manuals a treat to drive (when the road has no stops),
Get over the fact that Xli lacks power windows, Its an Xli because it lacks thoose features or else it would be a Gli or an Altis if had all the goodies.

Altis auto is more responsive also and has less jerky as compare to prosmatic. As honda fans brag here about prosmatic although it still jerks more than a cruisetronic .

Maybe the Altis I drove was kinda abused but I seriously like that car for its decency and CRUISE CONTROL. But I want to stick to Honda for some reason. So local Toyota is out of question.

Iam looking for used 2010 Oriel Pros. Maybe ill finalise a deal in a day or two Inshallah.

You are absolutely correct. Altis feels more responsive but it isn't faster.

Myself actually. But dad will use it too as our Mark X gets pretty heavy on fuel in intra city driving. And furthermore we got a very problematic Mark X. Its visiting workshops since the past 2 months
