First of all, they aren't 'reconditioned'. Second of all you can ask these questions here aswell:

The older model vehicles use to get reconditioned because there engines would have died, the body paint would have catched rust, the interior had been worn out etc. So, instead of repairing one subject by one they would recondition the whole vehicle.

The reconditioned vehicles were coming before the flood of JDM vehicles began in Pakistan, which is pre 2005. When there were no bans of year of manufacturing on vehicles and no limitations on the engine capacity.

I have a '06 Belta myself, bought it in mid 2007. When there were quite few of them throughout the country, it hasn't bothered me at all till now mashAllah. Maintain it properly and it'll last you a lifetime. JDM vehicles are totally worth buying as compared to PDM vehicles. JDM vehicles have a quality of there own which cannot be underestimated and are worth every penny you spend on them.

The Toyota Belta comes in the following varients:

    - 1.0L X
    - 1.0L S
    - 1.3L X
    - 1.3L X 4WD
    - 1.3L G

    The prices start from 12lacs for a '05-'06 1.0L X and go all the way till 18lacs for a brand new '11 1.3L G.

The 1.0L (1KR-FE), 1.3L (2SZ-FE) and the 1.3L (2NZ-FE) are all economical engines especially the 1KR-FE, if I were you I would not get a Belta converted to CNG.

I would not prefer a Belta with a CNG kit because it is already an economical car, even if the 1.0L is giving you 550Kms on a full tank of fuel it isn't bad at all. On the other hand if a local mechanic doesn't understand something for example: CVT transmission he calls it 'fail hai yeh'. They even consider carburated engines heaven sent and call vehicles with ECUs failed.

Anyways, about the CNG kit if you can afford a car worth 12lacs I think you could afford it's fuel aswell. I wouldn't convert my Belta to CNG even if fuel goes up to a 100rs per liter. I don't want to kill my engine.

In 10-11lacs you can get a registered, locally driven '05 1.0L in pretty good nick. If I were you I'd raise my price range by a lac and get myself a freshly cleared '06 1.0L. You won't be able to import a '06 model for 10-11lacs the dealers costing price is around 11.50 for a '06 1.0L.

Please keep in mind that Belta has CVT gears which are incompatible with cng in the long run. installation ov gas will require a change ov gear box. Honda City Varios and 2005+ Vitz are a glaring example.

The 1.3L G selection belta is an absolutely amazing car! the only drawback i see in it, is its resale value.
If you plan to keep it for a long time then you should definitely go for it, but if u plan to sell it after a few months then it isn't a good option!
