    Default Your Opinion

Guys please give your opinion about Nissan Sunny 2005. I am getting Auto petrol driven for Rs. 775k. in reasonable condition, with few minor touch ups, done 80ks. first owner.

Is it worth to go for this car, as I heard parts is a issue as this model is no more in prod. What about drive and suspensions? Other option is City 2005, but I am more interested in Sunny due to Japanese.

Has anyone of you experienced this car? Please give your worthy advise.

p.s--Though I find the shape a little odd, but city is no good.

    high resale value
    more driving pleasure
    small size

all those who are saying city is better then Sunny never even sat in one. . . . . parts availability is not any problem now, as the car is being manufactured locally by Nissan Gandhara motors.
the only issue it may have is that of resale... otherwise there's simply no comparison of a city with a sunny. owners of a sunny go to the extent of saying that its drive is even better then that of civic....

Sunny is no longer in production and the new model will be launched soon ( as per company's financial reports ).

I think sunny is better than City. The only negative thing is poor resale and expensive parts.
Parts are available since Ghandhara Nissan is still in business just like Chevrolet.

do note that the sunny is one size class above the city so you are getting better calue for money as it has similar features and is the same price (for a larger car).

i wish people woudl use their brains a bit more and stop comparing cars just on price when they are not designed to be competitors (from the manufacturer).

in PK people consider a C-class to be a high-end car and a CL9 to be an average car, even though they are direct competitors.

buying a used mercedes, bmw and nissan is very easy but maintaining one especially a car more than 5 year s old is not that easy.
and the people looking for used car in first place dont have that money or they would have bought a new car.

The sunny rules over the city any day bro - No question about it - It's a proper [small] sedan while the city is more of a compromise - The only con is the resale, but what the hell, it's cheaper to begin with anyway - Same as the lancer -

Sunny is a good car but as guys above mentioned that its part availability could be a big problem. Gandhara Nissan is still in business, but it is virtually bankrupt right now, don't have money to even produce new cars now.

Honda city, if clean, will give you tension free ride, and there are many mechanics, Honda workshops around. In a used car, it's all about maintenance and replacement of genuine quality parts, which would be a big hassle for you in case of Sunny.

Another thing that you should look out is the fuel consumption of Sunny. Petrol is above 85 Rs/litre and there is no car in Sedan category in Pak that beats the fuel consumption of City. Since you are comparing petrol Auto cars, Vario should give you a lot more savings on your monthly fuel bill.

+1..City is no way near Sunny in Performance. Chaps gets addicted with Sunny who drives it. Sunny is an excellant car. Go for sunny if you don't want to change the car very frequently. A good car has always its value although not as much as Corollas.

If gandhara nissan was bankrupt they would not be releasing the new nissan sunny model next year.
the sunny if far better car then city,as its not made out material which should rather be used to making plastic toys.

They are planning for that since 2009. I dunno the current situation there but it can't improve that much. They were in financial mess a year back and they defaulted on bank's loans. They really wanted to launch that model so that they could generate sales, but banks refused to give them money as they couldn't pay back old debt.

Bottomline is, even if they launch the new model, they dun have money to develope the spare parts market. Hence parts availability issue will remain. Nissan is a very good car abroad, but the situations in Gandhara Nissan are so bad, I won't be surprised if its them who will have to use the plastic toys material in the car, just to save some money. Honda Atlas management team is 10 times more professional.

i agree but then people should be smart when buying a car and factor in such things. sadly everyone i see buyig used cars tends to be looking for a short term solution,.. thi sis why almost all old cars in pk are complete junk as every siingle one of them has never been taken care of and are worked on by monkeys/mechanics on the roadside.

rather than buying a 25 year old accord, it'd make more sense to buy a mehran as they'd be easier to run and maintain but sadly here everyone wants to be a poser and this sickness is spreading daily... peope should stick to what they need and can afford to maintain.

As expected, split decision but most tilted towards Sunny. Storm arguments make sense.

I have offered him 725k but he is stuck to 775k. Car is owned by an army officer (ego)?

If I pay him 775k will have to spend around 40-50k on tyres and rims and other things to bring the car at my taste. What u guys suggest for a package of 825-850k for a 2005 Sunny?
