Thumbs up SOLVED: Is Suzuki Alto a Good Car ?

1 - Can any body tell me Alto is EFI ? I know Cultus is an EFI?

2 - Is Alto Cabin more roomy then a Mehran or it is only the engine which is big ? I know Cultus Cabin is big

3 - Alto supports AC easly right ? or is it same like mehran?

I went to jail road to show rooms and came back confused as every showroom dealer has a different opinion some body curses the cultus and the other one says Alto is shitty ... :-D

need help .. comments are wel come..

Actually, I am planning to buy a vehicle for my family commuting, we used mehran for last 20~ years and it had really served the purpose well (10+ feul economy) and before that when I was not born :-P My father used to have Suzuki FX, Now I am in a middle of a decsion, for deciding b/w two cars from same manufacturer .. CULTUS = ALTO

My family owns an Alto for the last 7 years. The car is highly reliable, excellent AC, great ground clearance, cheap upkeep including fuel, decent resale, etc. Ours has 170K km on the clock and still going strong.

The negatives are poor brakes, horrible pick, overall poor driving experience. If you are driving on motorway, just mind your own business, dont think about overtaking a decent car, you will be embarassed. The performance usually goes from bad to worse if you add a CNG.

If you are mostly driving in the city and you are looking for a work horse, Alto is a great choice. If your budget allows, I will suggest to go for a swift DX, I think its a quantum leap for 200-300k.

the best car made by suzuki so far is swift go for it. Its far more comfortable then alto/cultus. If you want to buy a 0 meter car then swift is the best choice among suzuki. Was not expecting something great like swift from suzuki.

mehran is more roomy than alto
i dnt think its ac works that well, seen 09/08 model alto with rol down windows in extreme temp
cultus is far betta than shi**y alto or mehran, spacious & ac works well

Japanese alto much better in comfort and cabin size but has a spare part non availabality problem and the automatic version do not support CNG kit,, so you will have to rely on petrol only if you really want japanese buy the non automatic version drive with care because no spare part not even light casings are available.. plus this japanese version is way more cheeper then Pakistani verion

    Thumbs up

I really appriciate that you guys give me a deep insight about 1000cc cars on Pakistani Roads and I am very happy that you all people did a great help for me to decide ...
From all the posts I recieved in this thread, alto and santro loosed my interest and I focused more on " CULTUS Vs Vitz " the Toyota vitz is a strong relable vehicle with all the youngster wants but has a expensive back up and expensive in price as well.. new import is above 10/11lac and I was not in mood to spend this high on just 1000cc small car like vitz...

So the last car in the row was cultus, so I choosed its EFI version (VXRi) in a black color (oh yeah baby ) and it is great ...

    THANX to all.

In market (I visited only jail road and queens Road) the demand was around 7.3 to 7.6 depending on the condition for 08/09 model ... I know its a bit high but thats market u know..

there is a famous Saying "The day you get something you will find its available cheap some where else"

I got it for 7.3 after hectic negotiation from Bari motors, and on very next day my friend told me he is selling his cultus as well ha hah ahahhah ...

but the one I got is VXRi thats a plus..

dear friends..........if u really wana money worth buying then forget this crap with no pwr window...no pwr stearing...no abs...no pwr head lights....no pwr mirrors......no fuel economy only does 8 to 10 km/ltr keeping in mind the absence of CNG. no comfort to drive....no space.

instead of waisting money on it go for this beautiful...luxury....economic....powr controlled with all above features wich are not in alto. c details in below link

I dont agree with you my friend because no doubt suzukis dont have luxuries youre explaining and have poor manufaturing quality because it is assembled by your and my pakistani brothers in karachi.

1 . but Mira / coure is a famous girls Car every young boy knows that , its shape its low profile miniature design every thing speaks for it self that it is made for girls only or may be senior citizens in rare case.

2 . Mira as Imported car so low market Value, instead buy local Coure if one is really into a Mira dont go for imported Mira becuase its not Toyota Vitz, vitz has market where as Mira is very rare.

3 . No spare parts: And the spare parts which are available are hell more then just being expensive.

I would suggest to them who really want to buy imported vehicle that If you want experts opinion try visiting importers your self first like Zafar motors, ZEM CARS, Marshal Importers, and many others thay are all at jail road, queens road.. and they deeply condemn two cars specailly one in Cherry QQ and other is Daihatsu Mira becuase of no sale at all.

Want an imported car go for Vitz. that a MANS RIDE

Sorry Sir I didn't mean to offend you but the parts of Mira are very rarely available in the market, and if they are the shopkeeper will demand really high.If one has to buy an Imported car, Vitz is the best option.

No Imtiaz its not the filter or minor spare part like this ..

let me give u an example I just scratched the whole door of my friends imported car Suzuki Every i think its as ugly as mira and is 650 cc and its side mirror got broken too.. now its been a year he still using it with that ugly door with a repaint job and no side mirror why because its not available and never be avaialble...

where as for local car break the mirror every day and ou will get as many side mirrors you want from EVERY SPARE PART shop..

so people like us aho are busy in their bussiness never bother to buy a car which requires that high pampering like imported ones ...

most of people like us prefer the markets choice, which is 70% suziki roughly, you have time to waste finding spare parts shop for imported vehicle its your own choice.

all respected members............i m using mira 2008 with smart package....all detail in mine earler link....... i m using it since last 8 months and THANK GOD I got rid of local napak craps n got worth price buying car.......lot of comfort....luxury...performance....n fully loaded featured car as compare to local ones....it does 24 km / ltr with ac on high ways..... not single time but all the time when i drove to jhang.

so how i should prefer or go to cultus or coure..or alto ..with no features...no comfort...no space.no economy...... wht i saved as fuel econmy.. i can go for expensive parts if i needed...other wise its japan made nd for better quality...so does not need to go frequently workshop...in case of lacal craps even after new buying u have 2 go to mechanics for adjustments. surely....becusd i used these napak craps for 10 yrs. nd not new 1
