    Default GLi or City

I got a city 2010 and after a couple of days of having it everyone around me starte3d to say that you should have got a GLi. I couldn't get a GLi because then it wasn't available in automatic transmission. However now when I'm going to sell my car to but the new GLi 1.6 A/T everyone is saying stick with your city. I am really confused what to do. I mean i personally like how the city is quite comfortable. Will the GLi be better and yes I do know that there are many threads about this topic but i just need your view what to but and why? NO FIGHTING, PLEASE!!!

P.S Honda and Toyota are both cool. :p

i have no experience of new city
but form my personal experience of toyota
the cabin noise is not noticeable.

Fuel Economy City is a winner ! No match in its class. See this...

    https://www.pakwheels.com/forums/mem...da-city-2011-a

Weight wise City is lighter (around 250kgs lighter then Gli) and Aerodynamic Drag Coefficient is way lees then its rival !

I guess City beats all others in its class , Exterior Shape and frame Wise !

The instant fuel Average meter improve your driving habits !

I guess the only turn off is the interior as compared with GLI

My Personal Preference is City and I think The weight to power ratio of GLI is not at all optimized !

    CITY ALL THE WAY !

There is one thing about corolla that it is the most stolen car in Pakistan. I think you should stick to City.

Agree with all your points except for the bolded portion. Looks of new Toyota Corolla are just awesome, the main reason why Corolla has become the highest selling car in Pakistan now, easily beating Mehran, and City Sales is nowhere near that. Another issues favoring Corolla are the relatively expensive Honda spare parts and the perception (esp in rural areas) about Corolla's good durability. In all other aspects City beats a GLI, however the shape of GLI is so cool that people are buying it like hot cakes.

gli is kind of under powered...city has the kick..
its up to u wat u want from the car..
city has low resale, gli will sale like hot cake anyday everyday!
city has pathetic interios, gli has better..
city has decent shape n gli has tht too!
but price of city is lesser than gli.like 2 lac or so!
gli wud run better on bumpy roads n city wont...

    My two cents:
if you drive in urban areas (where roads are properly made) then there's no better choice then City.
If you drive on rough/uncarpeted roads, then corolla would be the better option.

My personal choice would be CITY!

Its not about just rural areas which got bumpy roads, roam around in the city and you ll find many roads under construction and u ll be directed to a diversion and there you ll come to know about hard and soft suspension
    try it on both cars

Recently i sold my GLI and bought a civic reborn but seriously in some ways GLI is better than reborn..like cabin space...lighter steering...more comfortable...good front view....then why would u compare city with gli..performance wise GLI is really pathetic...but remember these cars are not built for performance..my friend has a new city 2011 and an old city 2003 and seriously he says old city is far better then new city

He mentioned the new GLi A/T that is 1.6L. The issues people have mentioned that GLi is under power, less power to weight ratio etc; I think these arguments are not relevant as GLi A/T is not only 1.6L but also has better engine i-e Dual VVTI instead of 1.3L GLi M/T's Plain VVTI. Corolla's interior is also better than City and all will agree to it. Corolla's suspension and build is also better. So to me 1.6 GLi A/T is better than City A/T! However GLi A/T is 4 speed A/T unlike City A/T that I think is 5 speed. Further it will be 1.6L and will sure burn more fuel and higher tax rates.

If you are upgrading from City M/T to 1.6 GLi A/T; i think its worth it...but if you are going from City M/T to 1.3 GLi M/T; its of no use; stick with your City. This said; be prepared; you will loose all the driving fun City M/T gives. You will not find this fun in any other car; neither Altis nor even Civic!

Will agree to most of the points

I think 1.6 Altis M/T or 1.6 GLi A/T should be the least the people should go for in Corolla! Yes these are expensive/over priced etc etc; but this is how life has become now

You will feel less shakes probably in GLi as City / Civic etc have by design stiff suspension. Why not rent out a GLi and take it on your next trip? Just ignore how 1.3L GLi's engine performs Atleast you can test Corolla's suspension etc and GLi's are usually available easily for rent! 1.3 GLi and 1.6 GLi A/T both are same except engine and gearbox.

Corolla Suspension doesnt feel bumps like civic or city suspensions.
Go for GLI AT it has all serious enough power and quality.

gli and city at this moment have huge difference back in 2010 both cars have very very less diffrence so people used to say that go for gli if you can afford a 1.6 gli than go for it its bigger better in look and good resale if not than stick with city
