Default Honda City AT, Toyota Corolla GLI AT or Suzuki Swift.

I have three options and i am confused which one is best.

    1. Honda City Automatic transmission - Rs. 1,500,000

    2. Toyota Corolla GLI Automatic transmission - Rs. 1,679,000

    3. Suzuki Swift 1.3 DLX - Rs. 1,106,000

Now, I am confused a lot. I don't like the rear lights of both Corolla and City but i think i would have to cope with that.

Please suggest me which one is best. Thanks
I personally like Suzuki swift, however, my family wants to go for a bigger car.

p.s. All prices are taken from the car's respective company website. Freight charges etc must be applicable.

Go for GLI AT. It is same as current 1.3 GLI just engine and transmission changed.
City is also a better option.

If you are an urban dweller and prefer 1300 CC over 1600CC car and also want to save some money by paying less for registration, fuel and yearly token, City AT is best value for money considering above three choices.

Altis MT, seems the best option as recommended by you guys. BUT I actually want a car in Automatic Transmission. I've had no car with AT ever so that remains a wish for me.

Sometimes i get a chance to drive my Bro-in-law's Honda city with Automatic transmission, and i really enjoy(love) to drive the automatic transmission.

What about new model of Honda city, any information? City has been there for quite a long time..
But you also have swift in your option list which doesn't have automatic transmission...

I myself prefer civic over latest altis at times but the fact that civics shape is soon gonna change is the key player to keep me from choosing it...
I just love this civic but I don't wana spend over 2 million on something which is almost getting obsolete in couple of months time frame... Sad but true....

Yup i don't have any village to go to. Car will be used only in Lahore. Travel to other cities can be like only 1 city per year, so use is like negligible

Yup thats the option that has high remarks in my mind currently. Rear light is an issue but i think i would have to cope with it.

Swift just because i like it personally, but my family doesn't. So yeah family is always first preference.
Swift is just a third option in case it overwhelms others, but i know it doesn't.

Yup, there's no point in buying a car that is going to change soon. Any idea when is the new model coming?
What abt City, when is its new model coming?

New model of city will come after 2013. In 2012, they ill launch new civic. After that they will decide to bring some change in city.
In urban driving. i will advice you to go for City AT. excellent fuel economy. and all features are present in city. which are in GLI.
Gli is 1.6 and it ill consume more fuel. In city drive speed cannot be exceeded more than 80-100km/H. City will give best fuel economy in city driving than GLI AT.

Interior quality of city is not bad at all. Im also owning corolla. Some ppl prefer beige interior. That's why they say that interior quality is pathetic. I like black interior more than beige interior. everyone has its own preference.
It all depends upon you what u and ur family like.

@Poster: Bro try to test drive the New City A/T and see if it satisfies you then simply go for it but if it doesn't then opt for GLi A/T...
Btw the car that your bro-in-law has got is New City A/T or previous gen vario?
If its the new one then simply ask n drive his car again and check the car thoroughly i.e Interior, Engine, Drive Wise and see if you really like it then go for it

Some reviews about new 1.6 corolla!!!!!
there is some big errors in his Calculations

i know the 1.6 Dual VVTi has very good Fuel averages but realistically speaking it cannot give lower Average than a 1.3 iVTEC M/T

it would have been comparable had the car been M/T

he achieved 12.5Km/L in Village Highways while as per his claim "speed was under and upto 100Km" "Mileage mostly done on highways" "AC very less used"
    Speed we can take 80-100Km/h

Honda City manages atleast 13Km/L while doing 40-50Km/h in Karachi Traffic With AC
    Cross 20Km/L on Highways

OP's decision is indifferent to Fuel Economy so its irrelevant but plz dont spread misinformation

No, his car is not the latest model. It is the model which came before the previous model.

As per what i understand, i think amongst City AT and Corolla GLI AT, in terms of fuel economy, City should win.

In search of an ideal car, narrowing down all the features/options to the fancy tail lights of corolla, do you think it's really that important to consider how does its tail look to others. If you have your heart set on it, simply go for it.

For a car so common on the roads, people would hardly notice anything except for the fact that you are driving a 1.5m car.

What matters the most is that how do you perceive it aesthetically and how well the car serves your needs.
