Default Cancelled GLi Auto booking for Altis (without S/R)

I had leased a Corolla GLi Automatic for 1679 via my bank and had booked it on 20th Aug. via Toyota Islamabad Motors. The delivery was to take place in Nov. 2011.

Then suddenly it dawned on me that with a price differential of Rs. 120,000 I was missing vital elements which were present in ALTIS automatic (without sunroof edition). So I requested my bank to cancel the GLi lease and re-book Altis. I have to pay the difference between GLi and Altis cruisetronic to the dealer directly.

    What I was missing included:

    1. Alloy rims
    2. Cruise Control
    3. Pretensioner & force limiter seat belts
    4. SRS Air Bag (driver side)
    5. Fuel cutoff system
    6. Retractable door mirrors
    7. Fog lamps
    8. Body colored mud guards
    9. Body colored side protection mouldings
    10. Extended type side skirts
    11. Green laminated top shade
    12. 2 DIN audio
    13. 2 steps adjustable centre console
    14. partial leather gear shift lever
    15. Economy lamp & zone
    16. Keyless entry
    17. High grade fabric seats
    18. 6 speakers
    19. Backlit optitron meter
    20. 4 spoke steering
    21. Wood grain finish

The tragedy of life is not what we suffer, its rather what we miss.

Thanks to all those endorsing my decision.

Sial_ali: Liana tera nasha is still on but replacing it for the sake of automatic transmission. You know the best thing that ever happened to automobile industry is the introduction of auto transmission. Entire west and east europe, south east asia, americas, middle east are all on auto transmission. Manual is something relic of the past.

All those shedding light on interest/riba: Being associated with the banking industry for the last 19 years, I am of the belief that riba has somewhat different connotation and cannot be attributed to present day banking.

@ lovable: Installment is 34000 per month. D/P is 520,000. 7 year plan. 3.50% insurance included in installment. Free tracker and balloon payment option.

@ Vajih: Liana sold. Will be handed over to the new owner upon getting delivery of Altis. Trying to get hold of Mr. Pervaiz Elahi, Honorable Senior Federal Minister for Industries and Production to get his signatures on the priority letter.

GLi is over priced and under accessorized thats the lesson learnt.
The tragedy of life is not what we suffer, its rather what we miss.

My first preference was auto and second was relatively newer model. I was thinking of 2006 X Assista, fresh import, for around 1.6M but the interior put me off. It was the same as metro cab wala's, bland and out-dated with those big size A/c control dials. Secondly spending so much amount and still plying a 5 years old model made little sense.

No intentions of installing the CNG in it. Relief for you, I presume?

@ Lianarules: I will get to know the delivery time when I get hold of the PBO from Toyota. During Ramzan everyone starts preparing for Aftaari from 9 am therefore everything gets stalled unless you attach some speed money with the papers/file. Since there are lesser buyers for Altis, I presume the delivery time should be less than GLi auto 1.6 I had booked. Will share it.

@ Aliusman: Do visit me. I am HBL Aabpara Market Branch during the day. Give me a call @ 0321-5100070 before coming. You are most welcome any time to my home as well.

@ Vajih: Will have to inform Spectra that you are excited and that you need some dates during ramazan.

    @hasnain2005

Conragts on the booking. Delivery period for Altis is Jan-Feb 2012 nowadays last time I checked (about a month back) due to Japan situation.

Since you are a banker, I wanted to ask you something. If my account is maintained at XYZ branch of any bank, and if I deposit some funds in ABC branch of the same bank (online deposit), would I incur any charges? My banker told me that there are 0.3% SBP charges on online deposits done on any other branch. Is it true?

@ mani: I will try to pull some strings to reduce the time.

The charges thing vary from bank to bank and nature of account. However within city there are no charges for depositing. For outstation its Rs. 350, at least for HBL. I dont know about other banks. As for .3% its .2% on withdrawal of cash above Rs. 25000/- not on deposit. These are not SBP charges. This is with-holding tax going straight into govt. coffers.

Brother, present day banking 'interest' is nothing but riba.

Nothing against CNG, it no longer makes economic sense imho . Is the new altis 1.8 or 1.6 now?
