Default Altis 1.6. How will Honda respond?

    DEar friends!
You all know that the present shaped GLI has been a great success while Altis 1.8 has been a complete failure against Civic Vti 1.8. Keeping in view the Gli success and Altis failure, The Toyota indus has initiated a good strategy to modigy Gli from 1.3 to 1.6 and from Altis 1.8 to 1.6. So in my opinion, Altis 1.6 will be a success now as most people will buy Altis 1.6 instead of Gli 1.6 because of a big difference in features with a small difference in price. So my Question is how HONDA will respond to it?? Will continue 1.8 L with more features or will launch 1.6 L version again to outclass Altis 1.6 L?? Please no fights but just logical comments
    thanks in advance

I never heard any sensible person saying that Steermatic was a big flop.

as per Topic Civic's market is not going anywhere in Pakistan
    its gonna enjoy 1.8 Exclusivity

Altis being 1.6 is a souped up GLi while Civic is a completely different Car

1.5 City with good features can provide the needed competition but i dont think itll happen
Well if the civic loses Market share, I don't think it will result from Altis now being 1.6, rather the new shape of civic may play its role... But again... Honda Honda ae... And they may tempt a pool of customers from their built quality and luxuries (particularly, the unseen ones)

honda does not need to launch the 1.6 once again by the way the new 1.6 corolla is way too expensive

Here in pakistan due to ill-literacy people didnt know how operate with paddle shifters and refrained from buying it.

Its a very good car for one who knows how to operate it. id say its a gem.

Why would honda respond to altis 1.6. I think they have more important things to attend to and similarly Toyota have their own clientele like wise Honda. Both cars are almost the same category and people who want Honda or Toyota would be going for their individual choices.( I own a 1.6 altis sr cruisetonic )

I am a corolla lover and had kept an XLi, before booking a new 1.6 Altis now. But I must admit that new sales and resale of Altis 1.8 was relatively quite lower than both variants of Civic Oriel. Both cars cater a separate segments of customers and both are hot in their own sections. Altis is not a failure but if we compare it with Civic than Honda will be first choice of first 6 people out of 10.

Bro, what I sensed from his query was: he is just concerned to know if Honda is going to launch a new car in 1.6 category to compete with new Altis 1.6 like they were rivals already in 1.8 category? He just asked opinions from PW members and as an answer to his original query, I think there is no need of it. Did Honda suffered low sales? or Civic resale has effected? If not then why would they think about diluting the credibility of their bestselling car (Civic 1.8) when they are an only player left now in this 1.8 cars category?

it would be great if honda keeps 1.8litre engine which manages to be more better economically, maintainance wise and yes supports gas on easily available kits.
honda has streak of its engines supporting gas very well
