    Default Broke My Own Record

    Hello All,

I recently received my Honda City in First Week of October. I knew that the Car is optimized for good Mileage performance but it is a a delight to experience it first hand.
Over the weekend I had to make a short trip to home so I set off Saturday morning and decided to drive as Econo as I can. The Journey constituted 350 kms with and at the end of the day I was happy with my ECONO CAR.

I averaged 20.3 km/ltr (Which till now is my highest) for the whole journey.

20.3 km/l for 350 km is 17.24 Ltrs for the Whole Journey. Pity Impressive, Right ?!

After getting off from motorway, I actually stopped by road side to capture my achievement and share it you guys.
Car is just been driven 1500 km and I heard the the Mileage further improves after 5000 km....

    Cheers

PS. AC was On for the Whole Journey

I still use the old ""wagon driver method, shaking & taping the car while filling the tank fully""" to check average of my ride

The method is to fill up the tank slowly & fully up to the neck bring the meter to zero drive it for couple of hundred KM's & than come back to same fuel pump & same guy repeat the same """old wagon driver """ method & than divide the mileage by liters.....& here you go with the exact average of your car (try it some time)

I don't believe on this type of electronic gadgets but anyway good average for you

I filled it with 1500 rupees of Petrol (some decimals more then 16 ltrs) before starting the journey. Car was on vapours before so I have a reason to justify my statement

Impressive going so far. What avg do you get in local drive? BTW, you have a long way to go as some members have reported around 26 km/l. (wish of good luck for that) :-).

The more hypermiling related threads of Honda City pop up the more I want to buy a City or sometimes the mother of hypermiling vehicles ===> Toyota Prius.

Thanks Buddy. It is a new vehicle as it has driven less then 1500 km , I hope it will improve as it logs more miles.

    Local Average is 12-14 km/l !!

Honda City's fuel economy is really good. Last weekend I went to PAF base Kalabagh (near Nathiagali) and my car gave me 14.5 Km/L average. Its was 230 Km round trip. There were 6 adults in the car.
Considering the steep climbs of Nathiagali, in which you have to put your car in 1st/2nd gear, 14.5 Km/L is impressive mileage. My car is 1460 Km driven yet.
