    Default Booking Corolla or ?

    Salam all Pakwheelers,

My name is Azam and I'm looking for some advice from you all.

I am returning to Karachi, Pakistan after 5 years overseas Inshallah in April 2012.

I want to buy a new car for myself and my family as soon as I get back. I still have a Pakistani NIC card and passport, however I dont pay taxes in Pakistan as I live and work overseas. I have some agriculture land in Pakistan however agriculture lands do not get taxed in Pakistan, as such I have never filed a return.

Question is will I be able to buy a new car like a Altis 1.6 A/T with my NIC card and a bank draft? Also, when I "book" the car, do I have to give them full payment or is the booking fee different from the actual price of the car? What documents/money will I need to book the car, and what will Need when its delivery time?

Hope someone can answer these questions..and give me step by step advice on what to do to buy my new car once I get back.

Also, last question....is it neccesary to get alarms/trackers/insurance? Should I get all 3?

hmmm... bro, for booking, u'll be needing ur NIC card and u'll have to fill up a form which will be given to you by the salesperson at the showroom.

U will have to pay the full price of the car including the freight charges.

U can go to toyota's website for the price list.

However, if u want the car on urgent basis, u'll have to pay the premium amount which varies from area to area.

You will need you NIC and of course the Banker cheque. The sales person will obviously verify the cheque from the bank.
Yes you need to pay full price (invoice) of the car in advance (price mentioned on the website), however the freight charges can be paid at the time of delivery.

It is completely up to you whether you want to book the car, or whether you want it on urgent basis. In the latter case as brother mentioned above you will have to pay premium/own which varies from dealer to dealer.

As for your last question, Altis 1.6 A/T comes equipped with Central door locking, and keyless entry if you want to install any additional alarms it's completely up to you. Tracker is useless. I will advise you to get the insurance done as well, considering how the situation in Pakistan is. It's a better option.

Thank you all for your replies.

So, I will need to pay full price plus freight when I book the vehicle? And then pay the dealer seperate to get the car registered for me as well?

How much would the additional registeration cost for a Altis auto?

And when I show them the NIC, will they not ask me for any tax informations?

u need a NTN number to book a car on ur name and prove the money ur using to buy the car is white money.

Your choices are to either buy on premium, or buy it from a road side showroom, Or buy a slightly used car.
Get over the fact that Xli lacks power windows, Its an Xli because it lacks thoose features or else it would be a Gli or an Altis if had all the goodies.

Since when do you need a NTN number? I bought 2 Civics from Honda showroom within the last 6 months without any NTN.

Just CNIC is needed plus the pay order.

^ Maybe Honda doesnt, But Indus motors and Paksuzuki require the NTN number as well,. Last year we got a Gli, a Alto, a Mehran, they required Ntns as well.

Honda doesn't require NTN, only CNIC n payorder is required. Not sure about others bt NTN is often required for Company bookings, not for individual bookings.

^ Correct. Honda doesent require NTN. Also, to the best of my knowledge Toyota does not ask for NTN either for an individual booking.

As you live overseas, you do not need to even have a NTN.
