Default Should I buy Swift or Civic exi?

I've tried going through past threads, but didn't find any helpful information.

My question is, I have 1m budget, and I have 2 options.

    1. Civic exi
    2. Swift.

Also considering that I have family of three.

I like Civic for its shape and class, but 0 meters itself is also appealing.

    Im concerned about few things

    1. Civic Vs swift what is the difference in daily fuel consumption.
    2. Some one told me that as compared to Civic, maintenance of swift is costly. (swift spare parts are costly as compared to Civic?)

I appreciate any feedback in this regard.

Well, in 1M u wont be able to get New Swift, new Swift Dx costs 11.6 (Reg Incl)!!!

Buying 6-7 years old car is too risky, unless u know the previous owner and actual condition of the car.

Regarding Spare parts of swift, if u buy it new, u dont need to be concerned about its spare parts costs as it will run trouble free for first 70-100K km (on Petrol)

    Best Regards.

both are fall in different categories.
my advice is to go foe civic,

Oook...swift is new but remember its suzuki, suzuki s...ks
civic is better gives you 80-90 mileage full cylinder in city and maximum 110 on highways
the suspension of civic is also good,
powerful ac and at last a trunk.....

    regards

    ^^^

Swift build Quality is comparable to any other car assembled locally, and drive wise its better than any local 1300cc car.

Obviously space is an issue with little trunk space.

For a family of three, and looking for less trouble then go for swift.

Though i have no swift experience apart from just sitting in it, economy is an issue with civics.
Well a friend above said it does 80-90km in city but my n most of other civics give 130km/cylinder in city and 150~190km on highway depending on your driving style.

And this would be very less probable that you find a TROUBLE FREE second hand civic.

My family owns a 2002 civic vti and a swift dlx (both are petrol)
In the city, the swift is preferrable because of its small size and driving around in the city, the comfort is equivalent to the civics.

But on the motorway, on a recent trip in the swift with 4 people, the rear passengers found the swift uncomfortable because it has less rear legroom. the boot is small too which makes carrying a lot of lugguage a problem.

our 2002 civic, despite being a 10 year old car is still very comfortable. its on petrol and has been serviced by honda service center. but because it has covered more than 150k kms, we had to replace suspension parts, brakes, etc which cost quite alot so make sure they're replaced in the civic which u wish to buy

so, it depends on ur usage- for more than 3 people, civic is preferrable but that only if the car has been properly serviced and looked after.. which will be very hard to find in ten year old car. and if u travel to different cities, civic is the preferred car

the swift gives us 13 km/l whereas the civic gives 10-11km/l

spare parts of the swift are cheaper. and as mentioned before, u won't have any problems during the first 50 thousand- 100000 kms. its the best car for city driving and will be hassle free.

Had same confusion two months back but i ended up buying SWIFT DX brand new
replace stock RIM/Tyre and now enjoying every moment of driving

    Why you should prefer SWIFT

1- Brand new car with warranty
    2- Excellent build quality
3- Speedy with excellent road grip
    4- Chilling AC
    5- Descent braking
    6- Easy to park

    Why you shouldn't prefer SWIFT
1- Hatch Back in 1.1 million
2- Not so good on CNG
    3- Rear seats not spacious
    4- Hard suspension

    Why you should prefer CIVIC

    1- Nice looking Big car
2- Powerful engine compatible with CNG
    3- Spare parts availability
    4- Good resale

    Why you shouldn't prefer CIVIC

1- 6-7 Year old car visit to workshops can be routine
    2- Heavy on Petrol
    3- Parking issue

    Rest is your choice

    Thanks

Go for Swift. It will be brand new and trouble free for 3 years. Civic will be too heavy on the pocket.
