Default Help to decide between 05 exi prosmatec or 09 city auto

    AOA all pakwheel members

I am looking to buy auto car for family need a family car max budget 1M but could be stretched to 1.3M

after dirving lot of cars like 2005 altis 2007 lancer 2009 belta 2007 vitz 2010 swift (imported) 2006 reborn 2006 city 1.5L and 2007 X Corolla I have narrowed to two cars mainly because of their all round performance parts service etc.

my criteria were fuel economy (not an issue as long as car is not 1800cc and petrol) good ac and car should be atleast 100 hp and some fun to drive with some luggage space

my family consists parents small childrens and wifes 6 persons.

2005 exi prosamtec and 2009 auto city.

Now City is available for 1315000 in a very good condition and 2005 exi prosmatec of a friend is aLSO available for 950000.

I have driven both civic has much better drive more space better interior dashboard etc

city has better fuel economy it is faster but also nearly 50% expensive and i am a salaried person so money matters.

    Please guide

which fuel would u run the car on?cng or petrol?
exi prosmatec is heavy on fuel and the car u looking for must have crossed 1lac kms easilly
city is fuel efficient/5 speed auto/and for some reason city's have more boot space then civics
Life is short and very unpredictable just like a Quarter mile .....

hash bhai civic is 180000 km driven but still it gives 110-120 km regulalry on cng for approx 600 rs

city is 35000 drive but it is on petrol and give 120 km on 1000 rs of petrol

i also will reinsure the car in july it will be around 45000 for city and 30000 for civic

boot space of city is very much because no cylinder i think with cylinder also it will be more then civic but interior is duck ugly specially my wife hate the orange spedometer cluster and there is gear tunnel in rear seats which makes it difficult for the person siting in middle.

city engine is nosiy at high rpms while civic is very smooth and enjoyable at high revs but my mechanic said that at 200000 km everything needs to change in a car engine is it right?

it also hits on road with family some times but my father says that new cars will benefit in future at time of seling so i should buy city

Civic 7gen is also a bala..but its a 7year old. Hard to find a good one. Steering is hard. Bad fuel ave.
My brother was in same confusion last year bought exi prosmatic 2006 and then.....sold it within 20 days n bought a city a/t 09 and now he is offering Sajda-e-shukar.

As far as the performance is concerned then 7th gen. Civic is much better than City.
But considering the age factor, it would be difficult to get your hands on a Civic with low mileage, in immaculate condition.
So in this case a new car would be a better choice.

Bro my friends 2005 prosmatec is constantly giving me 110 120 km in city driving with ac and family i drive with light foot and average 60-80 km/hr not a speed fan the best part is that cng here is still 79 rs and petrol is 103 rs now if the city can give more fuel economy it has to give approx 20 km/l in city even if it gives 15km/l it is okay with me can you please guide me what is your brothers city average in normal driving?

When it comes to performance, Civic is better than City but considering the miles on a 7 year old car, it may require frequent trips to workshops.
Even if there is no work required apparently in a used car, there are issues that might arise in old cars.
In this case the newer, the better.
City's response is also very good and the main advantage of City is the excellent fuel economy.
Gives you the pleasure of 1.3L car with the fuel economy that is even better than some of our 1.0L cars.
With this fuel economy you wont be needing CNG.
IMO get the City, it will be a better choice as clean 2005~06 Civics are very rare to find these days.
One of the most difficult things in the world is to know how to do something, and to watch without comment, somebody else do it incorrectly.
