Default Need your opinions about new xli

    Dear All
I am about to book for an xli in a short period of time. But, as has been discussed quite a number of times, there has been certain REAL issues reported frequently, and that is exactly what my apprehensions are. I would be realy very grateful if you give your humble suggestions about:
    1. Braking system (if the braking is still faulty and pathetic just like the 2005 ones)
    2. No immobiliser??? (I still dont know what this stuff is about and whether its absence becomes a real jeapordy and can not be substituted)
These are in my opinions the real issues those need to be taken opinions for coz to me they seem very alarming once you are prepared to spare 1.5 million..
waiting for your brotherly advice again in this regard,
    Ehsan

car getting stolen is the real issue you have to deal with

I'll suggest go for XLI, as for as brakes are concern its not an issue , better change stock tyres with some grippy tyres, Plus mmobiliser cant secure your car from now a days intelligent car lifter, its ur care and luck. Actually there are some facts regarding corolla, They are durable, Hot resale, Cheap parts, fuel efficient even its prestige. Say name of ALLAH and go for it.

    Dear,
-Brakes are better than 2005 model
-Immobilizer system has encoded key system in which car doesn't start other than the original matched key.

I guess, as you pals just opinioned, brakes are fairly good, and as @waseef suggested better tyres, that is not a cause to concern. But, i believe, absence of this immobilizer etc kinda stuff (dont even know what that is) could become a pain in the a**. Plus, being married person, I just cant sleep in a CAR at night as my brothers just suggested. Could you bros now be more specific and suggest some good stuff that can secure new corollas. It will, like always, comfort me before finally going to the bank for preparing draft..
    Thanking you again

bro trust me. dont go for corolla. i drove a zero meter gli just a week back and it was SO SO boring to drive. the only gud thing abt corolla is suspension, rest it sucks big time. ppl here are saying that brakes are better than that of 2005, but then define "better"...in this case, i wud say they have gone from "extremely superbly pathetic" to a "better" state of "very pathetic". now, u decide. secondly, its HUGE in size for nothing, u get no additional advantage. as compared to city, its WAAYYYY underpowered and even at 100 km/hr ur RPM wud be way higher as compared to city. 87 hp vs 100 hp (and city having a lot less weight) makes city a way way way better proposition as compared to corolla, and even then being cheaper. please, just try the drive of new city first and then decide. goin for xli is a horrible horrible decission. with 5 on board on hikes around murree, u wud be struggling even on petrol, what to talk of CNG. and the list goes on.

and how on earth can u accept a car with no FF power windows for 15 lacs....even 1999 model vitz has power windows bro....in the present era goin in pakistan, city is THE best buy in 1.3...and in a lil higher class, yes i wud support a 1.6 gli over civic (even without not having an immobilizer). i m just writing this so as to tell u that i m not a fan of Honda or Toyota. i m just talking abt the facts which are rite infront of our eyes

bro what ever u said about may be rite in ur eyes but in my eyes city driving is patheatic.I have city2010 and altis2006 .
When u drive city it is so light as it gives feeling of some chineses light weight car .But when u drive even older model 2006 it gives u atleast heavy look and u enjoy to drive.Iam totaly against the city of new model .
To the thread maker i will sugest u buy used 2011 model gli .
