Default accident - not a single scratch!

so i was moving straight-ahead in my lane in my car..

on my right, vehicles were travelling in the opposite direction... there were no dividers...

there is a rickshaw right behind the car on my right...

the rickshaw and i cannot see each other as the other car is blocking the view..

just don't know what devil occupied the rickshaw driver, he all of a sudden decided to take the lane on his right (i.e. wrong way, or my lane) and tries to overtake the car on my right and is directly going to hit me in the front..

i swerve on my left, rickshaw swerves on his left, and the riskshaw basically gets sandwiched between my and the car on my right, hitting both cars together...

i was sure, my driver's door, and door behind would have been dented and heavily scratched... and that there would have more scratches further back of the car... i definetly heard the sound of the impact..

when i got out, there were nasty scratches for sure, but when i swiped my hand over it, it was all just rubbery material that peeled off easily, leaving the shiny scratch-less original metal surface behind... no harm done and i was pleasantly surprised.. did the fact that i recently waxed the car help here?

yes i think wax layer protects the paint from scratches. it happened with me as well mine car was parked in the parking i was standing with friend at a little distance from my car. a corrolla guy scratched my car with his car due to lack of space in the path, i ve even heared the the voice of the rubbing. as soon as i get close to my car white scratches were all over the car starting from fender till trunk but when i rubbed em they got removed whithout destroying my car paint. i was suprised too

Wax may has helped here, but your luck was good enough.

Basically wax puts a protective layer on your clear coat, so the scratches may have removed the wax and were not deep enough upto the clear coat.

thank you people for your comments.. you never know what might happen when you drive in karachi..

motorcycles, rickshaws, minibuses, bus/trucks drive badly in that order i think...

motorcyclist have to cut you in front, take the inner circle when you are taking a turn etc.

rickshaws can move anywhere anytime... they are like motorcycles in larger chasis.. rickshaws should have steering wheels instead..

and what is with the slow-*** drivers, even rickshaws and motorcycles, who drive in the fast lane.. i bet they do not even know what a fast lane is!

our driving habits need to change... just can't believe that the same people drive well in foreign countries.. pakistanis drive taxis all around the world, don't they?
