Talking Local Suzuki Swift DLX V/S Imported Suzuki Swift

    Salam PW Members!
I am planning to purchase a car soon insha-Allah.. and I shorted listed two vehicles for now..

    - Brand New Suzuki Swift DLX from Pak Suzuki Motors
    - Slightly used Suzuki Swift imported from Japan with Automatic Transmission

Which one should I go for? I am a fan of automatic transmission, so I incline towards the imported one, but than, I've heard that dealers here in Pakistan usually tempers the odometer and stuff with meter, which makes it look slightly used. Is there any honest Japanese importer in Lahore, Islamabad or Multan that can provide me un-touched swift?

    Please suggest..

    Thanks!

    AOA Brother,

I am using SWIFT DX for the last three months. Before buying Swift I was using Toyota Passo JDM 2006 model.
Although Passo was nice car but why i opted for brand new swift?
only reason i dont want to waste my time in workshops and passo turned to be pain in the *** due to steering rack and other minor issues.
So keep in mind JDM matter only if you getting low mileage grade 4 car with less/no mechanical issues
secondly it'll be very hard for you to get JDM Swift from Multan i happened to see only one in Kashif motors near 8 number chungi.

Well there's a marginal difference between JDM cars and local cars
but in case of swift only difference you'll find is of seats, interior and paint and few other things. job I drove Japanese swift once and if you ask me to differentiate
i would say it is 10 - 15 % superior in terms of interior quality and paint.
and it's also has less ground clearance and braking is much better.

Local swift is more suitable for our roads and it comes with 2 years or 50,000 km warranty

I would reckon go for brand new local swift it'll be trouble free for sure
or in case you wanna buy JDM go for 1.3 ltr VITZ which has market value
    and excellent car
    Thanks

Very nicely put, this is what I call a proper suggestion, saying its crap don't buy this but that is stupid when you have no reason to give. You did an excellent and un-biased response.

where did I troll AGAINST it? i gave him my opinion. and I said right. you know that. whatever paksuzuki may do, the build quality of JDM is far ahead of it. It has got dozens of features.

I agree with you 100% that swift, probably, is the best thing thats ever happened to Pak suzuki. its got no competitors in the local assemblers' market... Its the only one in its class.

But again, JDM is always JDM.

and , this "every thread" of urs, I can't understand yaar. seriously.

Yes.. I happen to see Kashif Motor's Swift in Red too yesterday. It was a nice looking car. But I still don't know how reliable that JDM dealer is. Thanks for the offer, but I think, I will wait for the Suzuki to Launch Auto Transmission version, and than I'll have more options.

Thank you once again for the offer.

The A/T 1.6L Liana was less then 70k expencive then the LXi Liana, But that was probably to sell the car.

In Swifts case it should b around 70-90k, The car might have a in dash LCD/DVD player like in Liana Eminent. Other things would probably remain same.

Mostly the JDM car's meter are tempered. You don't know weather the Auction sheet is original or not. You even can't tell which of the parts are painted or re-sprayed. You don't know how the car has been driven.
I won't prefer a USED JDM car over a NEW local car.
Local Swift is a great car.
Go for a brand New car. It will be a peace of mind and self satisfaction.

Amm, Goto your nearest Suzuki dealers, Talk about it, They would let you know about the Automatic Swift, Tell them to give you a call once its avalible. Book your car. They will guide you about registration.

Insuarance EFU and Adamjee are good.
    Avoid tracker if possible.

^ Insurance is your best option, Trackers just a fancy toi toi gadet. Your Swift is safe without it,

-Since it has a FF immobilizer the car cannot be started without its orignal key.
-Khuda na khausta your cars taken on gunpoint, Imobilizers and trakers both are useless then.

PS: If you want to track someone who drives your car, Then trackers fine but for security its a false peace of mind.
