Default Nissan Maxima 2001 MAF Problem

Okay, this is the most common problem in maximas. I did replace the Mass Air Flow sensor, but the car behaves even more worst. The rpm suddenly drops. The old MAF was too dirty and needed to be replace. Can anyone help me how to reset the Engine Adaptations without using the computer or something different? I've tried resetting the ecu/clearing error codes. But those didnt help. I got the new MAF from Ebay for $50. As autozone and advanced autos had it for $170. Any help would be really appreciated

Is the MAF correct for your engine? and are you positive you have no air leaks in the tubing after the MAF.

Yes, I reinspected the entire tubing. Do you think the engine adaptations need to be reconfigured?
