Default Opinion Needed to purchase Lancer

    Assalamo Alaikum,

I'm in the middle of switching my current job & will lose company's SJ-410.
So, I have begun my hunt for my own vehicle. Everyone has been suggesting me to go for Khyber or Mehran due to low cost etc.(My budget is 250k to 350k).

I have seen reviews at PW, reaching to following points:
    1) Lancer (88-94) is a good vehicle requiring lesser maintenance
    2) Maintenance when ever arrives, will be costly.

Pl. suggest me will it be good decision to go for Lancer with a maintenance budget of 2-3k/month in mind?

Also, with my current budget, is it advisable to go for it AT ALL?

buy a suzuki, use it for as long as you want, crash it repair it then crash again and then repair again even then it can sell for more or less the same amount that you bought it for, plus easy maintenance.
lancer is not the car for you.

This is not what you buy a car for. Allah ap ko hifz o aman mein rakhay. I hope you never crash. A car is bought not how it acts on pocket when it crashes but it is bought to enjoy the ride. It has a little bad resale, but you dont buy a car to sell it, you buy one to keep it. I would go for Lancer since I would experience better ride for next few years rather than keep thinking about its resale value for 4-5 years. Lancer would however be more fuel consuming.

though people get a better mileage after swapping 1500cc/1600cc EFI Engines
...everyone is talking about "revolution" but do they have a "plan" to fix the system? ofcourse not they just want the driving seat!
