Default Have to get a new ride by next week ... need help in deciding...

    Dear Members,
I have to get a new car by end of next week, the nominees are

    1. Honda Civic Prosmatic
    2. Honda City Aspire Prosmatic
    3. Toyota Corolla GLI Automatic
    4. Toyota Corolla Altis A/T

These are listed in the order of personal preference...

However, now the issue is Civic is most likely getting dropped because of security concerns... It’s a car which attracts people... not good for security reasons... the features provided within are excellent.

City Aspire A/T - excellent look... no immobilizer and i personally feel the body is very light... but still like it.

Corolla/Altis - again no immobilizer (I don't know why it is not coming as a standard feature.. my 2002 Baleno has it) looks are ok, Altis has nice features, Toyota has had its share of brake issues...
Personally I am not a fan of Toyota

Need your help with the following:

    1. Which is the best car out of these and why?
    2. I’d be more interested in the problems which you guys might have faced during your use of these…
    3. what will be the best security option?
    4. Which insurance company would you recommend?
    5. Does insurance companies cover 100% car value after 1st year (no 10% deprecation - I understand premium will be high)
    6. Is there any financing institution/bank that offers 3-6 month financing?

Imported cars are not an option.

I like Toyota but they look more for old or retired people. very conservative design. No doubt it is a good car. my personal choice is a Civic.

personally I like ALTIS more and I have used both and have also driven City many times City is a big no no if ur comparing it with civic or corolla even Gli or XLi ..

if u dnt like corolla then buy Civic , but its a 6 yr old shape now and u ll def feel bad when u ll see new civics on roads in next few months .. its ur choice ..as far as my experience goes ALTIS is a better choice ..or buy a used XLi 2011 and wait for sometime then sell it and Buy New Civic
If its a new Civic that is launched in US/Canada, then the current Civic is much better. The new Civic is very ugly and the quality has also dropped. But as we know it is Pakistan, when the new Civic is launched, it will be priced crazy like 23-25 lacs. Already the price of fully loaded Civic is comparable to Europe or America and the quality is definitely not what they have there. I have seen both Civics here in Pakistan and in US. Price almost same and quality is too low in Pakistan.

Guys, thank you all for your feedback.

I am going for Civic (with Nav)..

Need your help, please suggest who is the best 3s dealer in Karachi? (Drive-In, Quaideen - they are more feasible, or some other...)

Please suggest, should I go for prosmatic or manual? ( I am leaning towards the A/T)
also, which color would you suggest? i am thinking light color for easy maintenance...

Please also recommend Insurance company and security device

Best Decision. Get Key Less Entry from Honda Also. I've had my Civic Insured from Chartis @ 2.8% of the Invoice Price as My dealership recommended me this company.

A/T is comfortable but is consumes more fuel then Manual Transmission. If your drive more with in city and in hour hour timings, A/T will have the advantage of comfort ( as you don't have to change gears every now and then )

For Colour, Silver or White are best choices at your hand.

    Best Of Luck !

Civic A/T ...as its comfortable...though it requires more maintenance than a manual.
and silver...the most dust proof color (i mean light dust wont be visible on silver, hence less cleaning hassle)...DO NOT go for black unless you have a full time driver hired for it

Dont know about Karachi; in Punjab there is about 7k difference while registering and 1k difference in yearly tokens.

Keyless is not a standard feature of iVTEC; there is 30k additional value added package in which you get Oriel like 6CD Changer and Keyless; I think its useless; as 6CD Changer only plays Audio CDs (now obsolete) and you can get the keyless for much less. Take a look at https://www.pakwheels.com/forums/whe...-ivtec-8th-gen

Immobilizer is standard feature and comes in all trims including iVTECs. Take a look at my thread linked above; it has the video showing how car behave when key is not enrolled.

Guys, I have the option to switch OEM navigation with C-track (same as in Altis) I am told that its better than Honda's especially since Karachi is more detailed in it and I wont be travelling outside of Karachi...Please suggest. will be having a demo possibly tomorrow or the day after...The dealer has advised me to book a non Nav car (VTI-Oriel) and have it upgraded by C-Track (along with the tracker and insurance); this way I will be getting the 6 cd changer back as well and will have to pay approx 50K only . (OEM is 55K)warranty will remain as is and not get void.I am going with VTI Oriel with Leather interior in white color. expected delivery is July.

The concern was that Civic was more attractive for car snatching, which I have been told is not the case. Toyota beats civic here...Also, having a civic parked in front of ur house or in garage can be interpreted as a good place for robberies... but that is also true for any other car under consideration...Any how, have decided to go for one now, and am more focused on making this investment more secure. Any suggestions in this regard are most welcome..
