Lightbulb Honda City Aspire (AT) vs Toyota Corolla GLI (1300 cc)

    Hi everyone,
I intend buying Honda City Aspire (AT). But getting confused as GLI 1300 cc (manual tx) is cheaper and has better resale. Please advise me on this. What about resale prospects of Honda City Aspire AT? I have heard that auto tx cras have poor resale value?
    Thanks

    Dear shabbirzafar80.

1st - you cannot compare AT with MT. Decide the transmission before you start to compare.

I am sure some one in your family & friends has these cars. Best you borrow it for a drive (gulberg & dha).

This should help you in deciding which car YOU like.

may be little off topic but I saw some people claiming "dead slow" pick of City-At

Please comment on the Pick/acceleration of the car .. This will also help the op to make his decision

Please brothers stop arguing.... both Rolla and city have their own USPs and they are sold for their unique product offerings.

    A few facts to be noted while comparing the cars;

    Suspension:
Honda cars usually have stiffer suspension in their cars which makes them handle extremely well. Corollas have softer suspension but at the price of handling and somewhat sluggish braking.

    Engine:

Admit it, Honda's iVTEC is technologically ahead of the Toyota's VVTi or Dual VVTi. Also city has got more power at hand i.e. 100bhp vs corolla's 84 bhp. Also corolla have a bulky body so added weight will also contribute to lower performance with higher consumption.

    Transmission:
City offers both option for m/t or a/t transmissions where corolla only offers m/t. The overtaking thing is just a matter of driving style and if you are not comfortable with a/t as it is not as responsive as m/t, u can always go for manual. Ur choice.

    Styling:
That entirely depends on ones personal choice. I prefer City since it has sleek interior with a good instrument cluster.

    Verdict:
Pakistanis are the only nation in this world who thinks about selling the cars before buying them so i cannot blame anyone of my brothers here since i also think like that .. The days are long gone when keeping a hond1a was considered a bad debt for ur investment. City is a good car and has established a market of its own and no wonder if u will keep ur car in good shape and well maintained, it will definitely prove to be an asset.

    Agree with mwm749.
Automatic transmission and manual transmission both are different in their own terms. You can compare both with each other. First of all take a test drive and decide which one is good for you and which better meets your specifications. Not only your family members and friends but company dealers also made you understand the difference between manual and automatic transmission. If you ask me, Honda City Review are good one to go for and it also gives a luxurious feel.

good acceleration, bad acceleration, comfort, ride quality, all these factors are relative. One must try the car himself and see if it suits the need.

You need to get a lil bit used to DBW cars. cant complain abt the acceleration though. City has good acceleration. and please dont rate the acceleration on CNG since the engine was not intended to run on it in the first place.

We own both cars and imo corolla is like a big hathi with comfortable seats and drive. City will outrun it anytime, plus the meter of city i beautiful as well as facelift exterior. Consider this that at the price of a xli ( considered as cheap corolla by the people) you can get get an aspire with navi and back camera plus alloy rims. ( while the aspire tag is better than xli) legroom is a little less in city but still a lot for a 6 foot person. I would go for city.
