    Wink !!!Mitsubishi Lancer!!!

    Hey guys,
I am willing to buy a new car in coming future and one of my uncle suggested me a Mitsubishi Lancer (its his friend's). It a 2007 model, 1500CC, manual, asking 9.5 lacks. Its in 100% genuine condition. Now the main conflict i am facing is that, i have new driver or used a lancer before so want ur suggestion guys. At first,
    1. What would be its mileage on petrol and cng?
    2. Is lancer a jdm?
    3. Are parts easily available?
    4. How is it comfort level?
    5. Is there any issue at time of resale?
    6. Ur personal experiences. Plz compare it with 2010 corolla gli.

    THANKS!!!

I personally love lancer. Its a great car , very comfortable , good performance , decent mileage and yes its jdm. It does require proper maintenance unlike corollas. Parts are available but expensive. Whatever you are buying check its original odo and maintenance records. You don't wanna get stuck with a lemon.

    1. What would be its mileage on petrol and cng?
my 1.3 glx petrol gives 13 km/l local easily with AC, CNG is not successful in lancer and i have not installed it either

    2. Is lancer a jdm?
yes it is a JDM vehicle

    3. Are parts easily available?
    parts are easily available

    4. How is it comfort level?
the more you drive it, the more you fall in love with it. comfort level is far better than civic/corolla/city any local car you talk about

    5. Is there any issue at time of resale?
resale is not good because our people's thinking is limited to toyota and honda, one who buys lancer buys it for using and not for resale purpose

    6. Ur personal experiences. Plz compare it with 2010 corolla gli.
far far better in everything, the fresh imported have ABS even so the toyota fanboys complaining that lancer doesn't have ABS their argument is nullified

one thing i want to ask you is that is it a fresh imported 2007 model? because the ones that were brought here by Dewan in 2007 were available only in 1.3 and 1.6, whereas the fresh imported ones are only available in 1.5
    8th Gen Mitsubishi Lancer 1.3 GLX 2006; 3rd Gen Toyota Prius 1.8 S-Touring 2010; 11th Gen Toyota Corolla 1.3 GLi AT 2014.

    hi
    here is your answers.
    1. average on petrol is around 9 km/l. CNG not good for it. installing CNG in it is really a bad idea. dont even think about it. but i have no idea about manual transmission. mine is auto tranny so i m sharing my experience.
    2. its a jdm
    3. not every part is easily available. most of the parts are used in market. and if you want genuine parts, they are very expensive.
    4. comfort wise it is 10/10. no issue at all.
    5. very difficult to sell it in a good price. i m also trying to sell mine lancer and i have posted an ad here on PW but the only reply i got from the buyers is that "you are asking very much." 9 lakh ki gari k 5 lakh laga k chale jate hain.
    6. i m using this car since last 5 years. believe me its a wonderful car. it also got CVT AUTO TRANSMISSION that is still not available in any local car. you are asking to compare it with 2010 corolla gli? bro compare it with 2012 civic. its a true competitor of 2012 civic and altis.
    abra-ca-dab-ra........!

Lancer EVO is fairly popular and performs well. This new Sport-back model of the Lancer provides more versatility by combining a sporty car with the convenience of a five door wagon-like vehicle.

I just bought a 2007 JDM fresh import, CVT, AWD. Average is >9 with A/C in the city. Beautiful, comfortable drive. Beats a 2012 brand new Corolla hands down in handling, and comfort. Highly recommended if you appreciate quality, are interested in a long term keeper, and not something you regularly want to trade. Surprisingly, there are a LOT of Lancers on the road (at least in DHA Lahore) which I only notice now that I'm driving one.

Note: Mine is a little sluggish, probably because of the AWD/CVT combo, so I have to figure that out and the top end is only about 140 so something is not right there. But the AWD is wonderful, up to Nathia Gali with 6 adults, 2 kids and a trunk full of luggage. Never spun a wheel once or put load on the engine. At multiple places Civics and Corollas were pulled over to the side, off load people and rev up and attempt again, we'd go singing by. Superb. Didn't miss the Pajero a bit.

I'm skeptical about the Lancer marketed by DMMC being a JDM.

JDM does not mean "made in Japan". These are vehicles made specifically for the Japanese Domestic Market and are not intended for export (as new vehicles). These have certain restrictions based on the local laws/regulations (e.g. speed cap, power output, physical size for each class). Lot of JDM vehicles are produced in Thailand. Most of the vehicle production in Japan is for export.

JDM vehicles have speeds limited to 180 km/h normally and the speedometer markings show that. If your speedometer shows a higher marking, it's most probably an export model.

I may be wrong. @wbaig can confirm the speedometer marking.
