I am planning to buy a 1300 - 1600 cc car with good trunk space. I am running on a budget and will definitely go for the less expensive option. The target is to get the best car in a low cost. My overall budget range is 900K - 1450K.
Currently I am considering the following options:
1. New Honda City Manual (Cost: 1440K)
2. Imported Mitsubishi Lancer (Cost: 1200K)
3. Used Honda City (Cost: 900K - 1200K)
4. Imported Toyota Vitz 1.3L (Cost: 1200K)
I am considering the following factors other than cost (more important factor comes first) for decision making:
1. Fuel Economy:
I am looking for a car with good fuel consumption as I would be driving only on petrol, not CNG.
The reason I added Lancer to the list is features like A/T, Airbags etc.
Availalibility of parts, mechanics and cost of parts.
4. Mileage of the Car:
This is obviously not applicable in case of new City, but should be considered for other 2 options.
Since the trend of using imported cars is increasing, will that mean that resale of local Honda/Toyota will reduce? In that case, I would want to go for Lancer.
Please advise and feel free to suggest cars other than the list as well. I would appreciate if you could also rate each car against the 5 criteria mentioned.
