    Default Best route from Islamabad to Wahga border

    AoA,

    Brothers, I need to travel from Islamabad to Wagha border after the Eid. Can someone tell me about the best route?

    I'll travel through GT road, so I need to choose between these two options:

    1. Islamabad -> Muridkay -> Shahdara (Lahore) -> Ravi Road Interchange ->Lahore Ring Road -> Wagha

    2. Islamabad -> Muridkay -> Motorway Start (Kala Shah Kakoo) ->Motorway exit (Babu Sabu) -> Lahore Ring Road -> Wagha

    Basically, I need the comparison between Muridkay-> Shahdara and Muridkay->Motorway-> Ring road options, in terms of road and traffic conditions.

    Please share your experiences.

    Thanks

    The 1st option is right. After crossing Shahdra you will see the Ravi bridge. Just after crossing the bridge, take a left to get on to the ring road. After 15 minute drive you will see the GT road interchange use that to get back on GT road and drive straight to Wagha.

    The second option is too off the way. It will add at least 30 more minutes to your journey. And the route doesn't make much sense.
    Never argue with an idiot, they drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

    @whiteangel

    Thanks for the input. I also consulted with one of my colleagues, and he gave the same suggestion, saying that road and traffic from Muridkay to Shahdra is all OK.

    There's construction/road work around Shahdara area (railway crossing). It may take 20-25 minutes in rush hours to get out of this area.
