well 5.5 lack i will advise you go for Suzuki cultus
reasons : it has a suzuki tag and it will retain its value in next 4,5 years
you will get a 2004/2005 cultus in good condition rather then a bad 1988--2001 corolla (its very difficult to find 1998-2001 corolla in
good condition within your price range)
maintenance and parts of cultus are cheaper then 1988-2001 corolla
fuel/CNG cost of cultus is more economical then 1988-2001 corolla
1988 -2000 corolla i don;t think so there parts are cheaper now
as you have no experience with cars you have higher chances of falling into traps /scams like when converting engine from 2.0d to petrol cng , corolla is a really good car ,good market value . but old car will be a nightmare for you (mechanics ,workshops) unless you find a really well kept car which i don't believe
either get cultus if you want a comparatively newer car for family or if you want corolla anyway then go for petrol/cng 1988 corolla
i don't think you will get 1998-2001 2.0d in good condition ....hope this will help you
    Thanks

Try cultus or buy a mehran(cheap to maintain and best resale value)
The one thing that unites all human beings, regardless of age, gender, religion, economic status, is that, deep down inside, we all believe that we are above-average drivers.

Cultus all the way. You can also try spectra and baleno in that price range. Spectra is really the most under rated car here...
As far as prices are concerned. This is pakistan here vehicle prices rarely drop. Instead price increases.. logic goes down the drain

Well, I shall suggest u to buy 2.0D but find a low mileage and originally maintained car. Instead of 6~6.5 lac, u will get a clean and less driven well maintained extra ordinary car in 7+ lac, but it will be trouble free for coming few years. I own one for about last four years and according to my experience, indeed 2.0D is a tension free ride except that the fuel is expensive.

I would suggest u to Buy Liana if you want to keep ur car for a longer period of Time and not concerned about Resale.
Liana's resale is not that good so you may easily get it for around 6 to 6.5lac and that too a 2006 or 07 model.
