They depreciate more than local cars.
Lets take an example of Axio.
Back in 2010. A clean X grade Axio used to cost between 17-18 lac(without reg and tyre change).
Now same car is at 14-15 lac bracket.
I had bought a premio X 2006 1.8 old shape for 17.5. Got it registered. Installed rims and tyres and it costed me around 19.
And guess what? After 2 months. Nobody was even ready to pay 17.5 for that car. Sold it for 17.25 with very much hassle. Car was totally genuine with original Auction sheet and import documents and 60k kms on odo.
Local cars have much better resale than import ones. A clean 8th gen civic 2011 model fully loaded costs around 20 nowadays.
Same goes for city. Clean 2010 models are selling for 14 or so.
Corolla has more better resale in 1.3 category. People had bought Gli's for 13.50 in 2010 and now they are selling them for 14.50+ even after using them for like 30-40k kms.

Vitz has slightly better resale than other JDM cars. 2006 model 1000cc are available for 9-950.
2008 ones are near 10 lac.

So depreciation depends upon car to car ?? I m specifically interested in resale of Vitz ... if a clean vitz 1.3 costs around 12-12.5 lac now ... what will it be after 2-3 years?

Vitz 1.0 has better resale compared to 1.3 and 1.5
Almost everyone in Pakistan is doing corruption to the extent they can. Our leaders are doing at the level they can do. So why should we complain?

1.3 vitz has slow resale. 1.0 has good resale. About vitz. I don't think so it will give u a heavy loss.
I think it will be around 11 or so. But that's just my imagination. Let other experts also share their opinion.
If I were you. I would had opted for a clean 2009 city.

    Well its fine then. .
You should look for a 1.3 vitz.
    1.0 is kinda slow.

Corolla x is selling at almost the same price even after 2 years.. A clean 2006 1.5 X corolla woth about 15 lakhs back in 2011 & it is still selling in the range of 14-15 now a days.. So resale varies from car to car.

Its just because of Axio and the new models above 2007 of Vitz cant be run on CNG thats a reason of low resale. Now why corolla X 1.5 2006 has a good resale is because its runs perfect on CNG.

I think the CNG factor is the cause. People's mentality here in Pakistan

Just my two pence. I bought my first Vitz 2004 FL pkg in sky blue for 635k in 2007 and sold it for 725k last year which was very much less as I was told that I would have easily got about 750k. The showroom guy cheated me Then bought a 2007 Vitz for 10.75 and sold it for 975k. Now I have a Belta 1000 CC got it for 1120k so lets see how much it will go when I plan to sell it.

If CNG crisis worsens then its resale value will increase and that of all JDMs too
