Did you get some affidavit signed by the buyer and you? Something which says that the car is now no longer your responsibility and is the responsibility of the new buyer now?

There are a number of possible options to explore. If I were you, I 'd contact the buyer, and ask him about this. If you are unable to contact the buyer anymore, then you might want to report this to the police. Get an FIR made in this regard. If it causes inconvenience to the buyer, he deserves it for being a lazy ***. Seeing the current security situation in Pakistan, I would advise you NOT TO TAKE THIS LIGHTLY AT ALL! God Forbid, tomorrow the car is used for any misdemeanor or worse - a big felony - you will be held liable and it's better to take some pain and get this reported to the authorities - make sure you get as much documented proof that you sold the car and that you reported the matter to the authorities as well.

    Best of luck!

This is probably not the best advice - but if you have the sales receipt and the car is still in your name, and if you can't contact the owner or if the owner is being such an idiot - then report the car as stolen - that ought to teach him a lesson

But seriously, get legal advice on this. Consult a lawyer. At the very least, report it to the excise office. Tell them you're no longer responsible for this car. Show them all proof you have that you actually did sell the car off. Then let them deal with it. Take all necessary steps to ensure that your back is covered. Even if they seem unnecessary or being too over-cautious, it's better to be safe than to be sorry.

Well the 1st thing u shud do is try and contact the owner and ask him to transfer the car to his name, secondly u shud have the original receipt which says u have sold the car to the owner, if u dont get a response from the owner, then u shud write a letter to the excise department with the details of the car, a copy of the sales receipt and a copy of car documents (if u have them). In the letter u shud explain them the whole situation. And b4 doing all this u shud still get some proper advice maybe u cud meet the director of the excise dept and discuss the situation or u cud consult a lawyer....
But dont take it lightly becuz it puts u at risk that a car on ur name is being used by someone else

give the add in newspaper, that you had sale this car and the buyer had to transfer this car to his name, and that you are not responsible more for this car. and take one copy safe with you atleast upto your car transfer to other name.

U dnt need to worry about this .. It is very normal to keep car paper/book on open transfer letter many buyers keep the open transfer leter in dis way selling the car would save their 5k (car transfer feee)

U have the document( ashtaam paper) that u have sell the car on that day that means u r no more responsible ..

I knw he dosent want the car back but sm1 above had suggested to report the car stolen just to teach the owner a lesson, and that is not a good idea because the owner hasd proof that he bought the car and a false report would lead to trouble.... anyways its not even a point worth arguing because im sure no one could be stupid enuf to report it as stolen
