i used alto vxr but never took it on long route. the only thing u have to worry about is traction, as stock wheels are much thin. the rough road wont do anything as alto has a good suspension. that is all can say with a little experience

I have seen mehran at shogran.
My friend has taken his alto to shogran. He said due to reviving engine at high speed the engine turned off at one point due to accumulation of oil in engine cylinder. After some time he started the engine again and it worked as oil went down in engine oil pan.
Some people park their car at starting point of shogran and hire jeep to go up there.
if engine is in good condition it should reach there but yes the its steep climb.

While going down from shogran, give short rest to vehicle atleast at two points to avoid brake pad overheating and do same, once while climbing up.

Yes u can go on alto but I won't recommend it. As @afnan_88 said, it is better to hire a car/jeep. apni car ko kharab roads per chalatay huay tension hoti hay. Shogran ki height per jatay huay bohat zor lagta hay car ka... to bhi tension hoti hay. Wapsi per disks heat honay ki tension... iss k ilava, jo bhi drive karay ga wo scenic beauty enjoy nahin kar sakay ga raastay ki because he'll be focusing on the road only. Gari/jeep hire karo... and enjoy without tension

Yes you can go in Alto. But before going complete checkup your car i.e. Air Filter, OIL, Oil Filter, Tire Grip, Brakes Service etc.

There is little technique to go Shogran, just to drive at Gear Number 1 or 2 after KIWAI. You can easily cross the road. Similarly, when u will go back, only drive in Gear 1 only, try to use less on brake otherwise it will hot.

For Naran, your car can easily go in this area. No Need of tension.

    Hotel Rates :
PINE PARK HOTEL (recommended to stay with family or friends) Rs. 6000. I stayed in the last week in this hotel. Hotel renovated very well.

Royal Hotel (NARAN). Rs. 4500. but u can check Hotel De Manchi, i didn't check. But you checked and then decide. Royal Hotel is also good for family. Parking lot is also very good.

Alto's 1000cc engine was previously supplied in PakSuzuki's Pothohar jeep, which make this car better than many cars in 1000cc category in terms of engine power.

personally i dont know why Shogran climb is talked about so much. there are many many steeper places where ppl come and go easily and there is absolutely no problem. i went in 2008 to Shogran with my family in a 2003 model Platz, which is generally rated as an "unerpowered car" but at no place on the climb i felt that its too steep or something. i reached shogran very very easily. so, if ur car is mechanically fit and it doesnt heat up usually, nothing will happen to it. dont worry

they never ever ever heat up if one knows how to drive. only poor/weak drivers rely on brakes. use lower gears and let the car rev high up, sometimes u dont even need to use the brakes

Most of the cars today are controllable with low gears, but some gain too much speed in even 1st that u have no choice other than braking.
