Yes its possible to improve fuel economy with an auto by changing driving habits among other things. Slow careful acceleration, no excessive speeding, properly maintaining the vehicle, using cruise control, and not allowing the car to sit in idle for extended periods of time are always recommended to those seeking to improve fuel economy

In Automatic vehicles, my experience is with CVT. This transmission has its own limits for accelleration so no matter u keep the RPM on 2000 or 4000+ (with option 'D'), u get the same response so its better to keep RPM at optimum level to get fuel economy instead of raise the RPM and spoil your fuel everage without having any extra benefit of it.

1 - make two holes in the floor on the driving side.
2 - pass ur feet thru the holes.
3 - apply adequate pressure on the legs until the car starts moving.

PS: dont forget to yell "Yaba Daba Dooo"...

jokes apart. keep ur car properly tuned up. refrain from jack-rabbiting, keep constant speed and minize use of hard braking. keep a close watch on transmission fluid and change it with regular intervals.
Whenever a bird shits on my car, I eat a plate of scrambled eggs on my front porch just to let them know what I'm capable of...

Brother the only thing you can do is to keep the transmission fluid at level, keep it in "D" mode and put as light pressure on the gas pedal as u can.
