Post What is the Difference Between Honda Civic hybrid MXB and MXST?

I'm interested in buying a Hybrid Civic, but I'm confused between the two trims. What is the difference?
Also I'd like to know how much mileage owners are getting, and the expected price range.
    Thanks guys!

Civic hybrid is not a successful car here and abroad

I would recommend you to buy prius its much better and parts availability is not an issue here

As far as millege honda hybrid gives around 16-20 kmpl

    Prius around 20-25kmpl

Thanks for your input guys. Any recommendations, other than the Prius? Its a bit small as compared to the Civic. Also, body and mechanical parts for the Civic are more readily because the same shape is locally available. Other options could include Axio or local Honda City.

Due to small displacement, 1300cc idsi in such a huge shell, feels like a truck.
Moreover, why a hybrid for only 14-15kpl :/

First u got to decide whether u need a hybrid vehicle r not.
If yes, then only n only prius is your choice.
If not limited to hybrids, u can choose axio or axio fielder stuff.

Regarding cabin space, ur assumption is false bro, prius has a LOT of cabin space, not less than civic in anyway...

Agreed leg roam is actually more than both civic and altis.

It's a compact vehicle from outside but inside its more roomy.

The trunk space at times bugs me. As far as specs go it has more ltrs than the corolla I had.

I had to go to Lahore and couldn't fit two bags properly in the Prius because the trunk isnt that wide.

Somehow later I managed to push them in; I still think it paid off on the m2 with stability and comfort not to forget the economy compared to a 1.3 Indus khachra as I call it .

@Poster: axio and hybrids are two different segment cars; when one is opting for a hybrid concern in only fuel economy if U want large boot space get a fielder; inside however Prius isn't small infact more leg space than a civic hybrid too

Brother MXST is the upper grade with optional side airbags, curtain airbags, standard Xenon lamps and 16" inch alloys.

Civic Hybird is much better than Prius or any other JDM Hybird since everything could be replaced by the domestic Reborn model.

You cannot even find OEM plug wires or rear bumpers for Prius in open market.

You can find a good MXST in 1.6M and base grade MX for 1.4M.

Are you serious with the plug wires thing? Which motor does the 1.5L Toyota Prius house in its bay?

And try buying a "reborn" bumper from kabar wala one day, your pocket will be reborn within moments.

Of course, one who is educated enough to know a Prius and still spends 17 lakh on a toyota corolla is the ultimate stupid of the millennium.

Premio and Prius are the only two JDMs worth buying without second thoughts.

I know nippon motors for a long time they do not have any stuff for Prius.

NGK IFR5T11 is the oem plug in JDM Prius and it is not available with them.

They also don not have oem fibre bumper for Prius except some chinese replica for which they were asking 8000.

Buy oem plug wires I mean plugs and coils just use your imagination a bit instead of your fingers.

Reborn bumper from Kabar is available from 2,000 chinese one is 4500 and oem thailand bumper is 8,000.

All u know about reborn is what you have have listened from your college friends and I own Hondas since 3 decades.

I totally agree with bradpit, I am also using Honda Civic hybrid and happy with its performance. Regarding hybrids, Honda always consider using conventional technology which is time tested and hence reliable when ever they upgrade things. Most of the people comment without knowing the facts. The transmission which Honda is using in the hybrids is the CVT conventional which unlike Prius(electrical Transmission)doesn't stall if the battery pack is exhausted. In Honda hybrids the safety feature is much better than the prius that is why in 2006 and in 2013 they have been awarded with the most safest car in the world. Moreover the prius doesn't fall even in the category of sedans so the comparison between Honda civic hybrid and prius is altogether unjustified rather it should be compared with Honda insight instead. I live in northern area of Pakistan and you know the terrain is much hostile and i haven't found any difference of acceleration between 1.8litre civic sedan and Civic hybrid thanks to its 20 horse power motor assist mechanism which is providing the required throttle.

I agree with Makhzum`s view point that most of people`s verdict is based on a word of mouth openions, however I have also used my friend`s UKDM 1.34 hybrid civic and I could hardly ever felt that its underpowered. Considering the fact that hybrid cars are not meant to be for racing purporse etc so that driving senesibly will hardly dissapoints you ever. As far as the enconomy is concerned, it may be slighlty lower then priuse but driving/sitting postions, shape, comfort and other factors counts a alot and also overcome this consupmtion difference.
It's a never ending battle of making your cars better and also trying to be better yourself.

I myself just recently bought a '07 Civic Hybrid UK spec model after much debate and searching. I also checked out and drove a lot of Prii (plural for Prius I think, lol), none handled nor drove the way I wanted them to be like. After 3 months of searching, debating, more searching and more debating, I got the Civic hybrid. The car is awesome, it has great acceleration (pick), gives great fuel average. I get 16 KPL with it using full time AC and sometimes I do get 14 KPL with 4 people on board. Yesterday, I went to ShahDara with 4 people on board with full time AC in and out of traffic jams, the car gave me 18 KPL keeping in mind that I could only cruise at 70 KPH for a few seconds or so. It even gave me 22 KPL while I was on way to Lahore, when I switched off the AC, the gauge read 25 KPL and I was like :O
People here don't actually know the true practical aspects of a car, they just say what they think is right; not what facts say.
If you get a "full option" Civic hybrid with the full leather interior, leather door cards, 6 CD changer, multi-function steering wheel, cruise control, heated seats, VSA, adjustable headlights, trunk spoiler and all those other goodies, you'll never think of buying a Prius.
IMHO, a Prius is way, way ugly than any Civic. That hatchback shape reminds me of a Mehran, if one buys a car only for the sake for fuel economy then one has WASTED his money.

Listen to your heart, drive both the cars. The decision is up to you not us. Its your money, spend it the way you honestly want to.
The hardest part about moving forward is not looking back.
