Default Rx8 as a first car.

I have this huge desire for a RWD affordable car, around 1-1.4mil. Seeing that price range, i came across the idea of buying an Rx8.
After a small research i started to think whether having an rx8 with a 1jzgte engine be a good idea?
Will it create any problems (the cons of 1jz rx8)?
Will it work out as a first car to drive on a regular basis?
    Fuel consumption of 1jzgte?
The resale of an rx8 with 1jzgte?

    Thanks.

If you have concerns over resale, drop the idea.
secondly driving it as a daily runner? Answer only depends upon where and how much you require to drive.

Don't go for it unless you know how to maintain it.

It has a rotary engine which is a very complicated engine so if you dont know anything about these engines and have no knowledge of its maintenance then do not buy it

RX-8 with that engine for the first car is not recommended at all.
Try to find a nice clean not abused RX-8 with her native engine. There are load of information on web about maintenance so how you treat her is up to you. This car is for 2 with small trunk will do the job if you are the only user.
Don't go for engine swapped RX-8 no matter it have rotary engine from other RX-8.
Rx-8 with alien engine will be pain in A SS and your pocket will cry loud. Think well and well and very well before going for swapped vehicle. Good Luck

Swapped rx8s are complete rubbish. Period.
If you want one, find a freshly imported stock 8 because ones with the original rotary here have been poorly maintained.
A renesis rotary requires regular oil top ups (its mechanism means that the engine is MEANT to consume oil), cannot be run on synthetic oils because it leaves carbon residue, and its coil pack needs to be changed every 30k kms or else it starts to hurt the engine. People with 8s here dont take care of it and leave the engines with half the hp and only 50k km worth of life left i them.
If you seriously want one, find a fresh one and get it compression tested.
Theres hundred of articles on the internet of things to keep in mind before buying one and keeping one.

If you maintain it well, only then can you truly enjoy this beautifully balanced car and engine, its worth it in the end. People who criticise rx8s have not experienced a well maintained one, or cant appreciate the amount of car you get for the money.

Drop this idea mate. Buying rx8 that too swapped with 1jz is a bad idea.
Your main concern is to buy a rwd car right? Go for a w202 benz or a toyota crown/Mark 2 in this price range. They are much easier to maintain than a swapped rx8.

Brother people are not even buying these cars in America why should you consider buying this thing ?

RX-8 could also be your last car as afterwards it will get you bankrupt and you could be driving a motorcycle.

Hahaha youre actually comparing americas market to here? Seriously? All you get in america are gas guzzling V8 fords and chryslers, they drink as much as the rx8. Cars are selected for freeway driving, boot space and capacity, ANY import is looked down upon there. Its so unbelievable how people just jump to conclusions by comparing to everything "western", no wonder they look down upon us too, because us a nation have never known better but to grovel at their feet. Every region/people have their own set of standards and benchmarks to follow.

Anyway, to OP. in pakistans market, in the price you can get one at, in the amount of CAR and DRIVING PLEASURE you get out of a clean well maintained rotary rx8, it is a very good buy. Yes its mileage averages around 4-6 kmpl, but then again, no one bats an eye to the reborns 7 kmpl mileage, that too being used as an everyday car. Its obviously not a car that can be daily driven to jobs and colleges due to certain impracticalities, but that is obvious for any weekend car.

Sad part is, i dont even own an rx8, but will buy one soon, its a ***** in terms of resale for the first owner but we get them imported/used here anyway, and well maintained ones dont lose much value either, experienced rx8 owners will know.

Sorry about the rant, really i am, good luck and i pray for our nations independence from everything "amreekan".
