Exclamation City Aspire 1.5 Prosmatec OR Corolla GLi Automatic?

    Hey friends.

I have been offered a choice to buy one of these two cars by my company. I need suggestions as to which one i should go for? I have read posts on this forum regarding the comparison of these two wheels but the owners of both of them are satisfied.

Petrol ,maintenance and resale is not an issue for me as it will be company car.

I want to know about the drive, navigation system ( how accurate it is, i live in karachi) , prosmatec vs automatic (which one is better) and any other advantage of either car??

Need to make a decision in a couple of days so will be awaiting your valuable suggestions.

    Thanks

Honda City 1.5 Is Better, But It Compromises On Comfort For Sporty Handling And Drive, But If You Like Comfortable Ride Then You Should Go For Craprolla.

If you have to drive on bumpy roads and on long routes very often. Go for GLI AT.
Otherwise City Aspire offers more features as compared to GLI AT.

Actually Corolla has more front legroom and head room than City .I agree about steering response btw
And about comfort, city has no chance against Corolla.now a days i using a city and its worse than civic and corolla on bumps even on city roads it makes noises

Ok, Then Isn't Hard Suspension Bad For Comfort? And Who Says Altis Is More Comfortable Then City, Altis Is The Most Comfortable Car Availble In The Market, I Agree On Steering Point, But City Not Spacious Instead It's Cramped In Side.

I own the City 1.3 Aspire Prosmatec. I being a Honda fan would still recommend you to go for Corolla. Will share my experience about it below, you can guess what goes true for the newer 1.5 variant too:

    1. Sluggish acceleration (I know its Auto but its still sluggish, 1.5 might be better, its owner may comment on it better)
    2. Pathetic Fuel consumption (avg 8.3kmpl, yes wouldn't matter to you as its company maintained)
    3. Very Hard suspension. (I have the Swift too and Swift is even comfortable than this)

Rest, the Aspire is a fully loaded variant and given the above factors had a cure, I would have preferred it over Corolla.

Bottom-line: IF you can compromise on the Suspension thing (because its really NOT comfortable) i'll suggest go for City, otherwise as a family car with a peaceful drive and quiet cabin, go for GLi Auto.

Have a Aspire 1.5 PT. I m a Honda fan since 1998 (civic only). But strongly recommend now for 1.6 Gli. There are many reasons and most of them explained by other PW friends in Upper posts.

Thank you all for your replies.

I am not going for an Altis because my company has given me only two choices that i have mentioned!

Ahaan so from the replies i think the Gli Automatic is better mainly because of the hard suspension of City.
But i have always heard from people who have owned both cars that Honda has a superior drive to a Corolla, and the gear shifts in the Auto version are much smoother??

Honda Civic has a superior drive but not the City (aspire) n this case.
Gear shifts in Prosmatec are much smoother.

I would suggesst test drive them for your own personal satisfaction

    Rest goodluck

I have 1.6 Altis, same engine as far as 1.6 Automatic GLI is concerned. i had to decide between civic and corolla. At the end I bought Altis because of one reason and that is suspension, with the type of roads we have in Pakistan and specially when I drive up north civic or city cannot cop up with those pathetic excuse of roads.

When it comes to milage 1.6 GLI will give you around 11+ in city with AC, while one of my friend bought a city 1.3 automatic and he cannot go above 10+ in city drive.

So basically everyone told you the difference between the two, mostly it's suspension. when it comes to looks you will start to ignore them after a month as they will become standard to you this is how our brain works.

so decide on the roads you have to travel on daily. If those are smooth as silk go for city if they are bumpy go for corolla.

Driven both, when it comes to compare the auto shift, I bet the new Auto GLI is superior I won't say far superior they are both comparable.

Take a drive and you will know, i know it by experience of driving both.
