Default Honda City or Honda Airwave

    hello,

i have recently bought new honda city 1.5 aspire prosmatec for 18.2 million.

but i was thinking have i made a mistake buying this car. the japanese cars offer alot of options in the same price. but i didnt wanted to compromise with a used car for my money.

    now im having second thoughts.

will it be a wise decision to buy honda airwave with panaromic sunroof and all the full specs car which is driven around 50k kilometres. how is the car really and are the parts easily available???

its around 2007 max model available, is it a wise decision to buy 6 year old car instead of keeping a brand new honda city 1.5 aspire prosmatec.???

I personally think new is new and can't be compared to a 6 year old jdm , jdm's are very comfortable and spaciuos but parts and resale is a big issue ,But if you are buying one , their are many cars which are accidental so be careful and check the auction sheet online , other than that, why don't you like your city aspire ?

Mohsin bhai thanks for the reply.

basically honda city aspire 1.5 prosmatec is a very good car but the seats are horrible, it has leather seats which makes it even worse

mujhay samajh nai arahi kya hal nikaalon seats ka.

fronts seat are hard but the bucket seats design compensates the uncomfort but back seats are absolutely horrible.. its like a bench of a park.

my parents whenever sit at the back complain abt the back seats being very very hard.

the only reason i did not buy altis automatic was that it gets stolen in islamabad in a second.

my three friends lost their GLI this year in islamabad. thats why i bought honda city because its reputation is way better and its a nightmare for people who end up stealing cars

    Default City

I would suggest that you keep the City. Its a brand new car and will be great to drive over the next few years. The Airwave is a cool car but its used and no matter what condition you buy one in, its still a used car. If the hard seats bother you so much then maybe you can put on seat covers with some padding in them. But I would suggest that you should not let the 'poshish wala' to mess with the original seats or covers. Cover the original seats with soft covers or get some nice sofa cushions from Chen One and use them.
    :-)

thank you for your reply kind sir,

i am thinking so too because its a new car and it can last much longer thn any japanese car as it will only be maintained by honda centre.

i did buy a padded fleece blanket/throw from bed&bath today and laid it down the bottom of the back seat, feel a bit comfier. yes i guess the idea of messing up with original seat is not really a good idea.

I never knew you dont have a temperament to take this as a light joke. As a cherry on top you also called me a typical "paki". By all heart I apologise for telling you what you can buy in 18.2 million pkr mr.non typical Pakistani bonafied citizen.

P.s. by paki you meant what UK people call us? Pakistani?

    Bottom line:

    1) youve bought newer and technologically advanced engine than that of Airwave (which is similar to that of older honda city steermatic i-vtec)

    2) newer body. zero timed engine and everything. peace of mind. better resale. more availability of parts

    THEREFORE A WISE DECISION IMO

Sir jee i have civic 2001 exi, since its birth it has been driven 142 k till todate, through out Honda center and honda classic maintained, the total maintenance we have done so far is
    1. Replacement of timming belt and timming bearing.
    2. Twice changed the break bads, disks.
    3. Cabin light changed once.
    4. One bush changed, although dont know the name.
    5. All fluids changed once, except radiator coolent/ water.
    6.Tyres changed once.

Please note we have never ADDED I REPEAT NEVER ADDED a single drop of water in its radiator or reservoir bottle, its the same fluid which came from factory, just the color of collent has been changed.

Its still feel like a brand new car, total soundless car n its suspension...

So the crux of the story is that if you bought a zero meter car and keep it with care, it will never ever give u any prob, atleast its my experience of 12 years.

    PKDM cars are damn reliable.

Actually its ur father who drives it with real care otherwise i have seen ppl crying even aftr driving 30-40k k yaar shock baith gaya hai yeh kharab hai woh kharab hai. Zero meter is zero meter thre is no doubt in that but again it depends on ur driving style aswell. The car can serve u for many years or it can brake down in a couple of months.
