It depends upon either you want to drive it in Urban Areas or the Rural ones. In my opinion, if you want to keep this jeep for off Roading or in the Rural Areas, go for the Diesel version because the Quality of Petrol in our Rural areas aren't good. Obviously Diesel versions have more power and fuel economy as compare to the VVTI powered Prado. If you want to keep the car in City Area, go for the Petrol one as 2.7L VVTI isn't that bad on petrol as well. The owners of 2.7L Prado are also satisfied because if you can afford a 5 million Jeep, surely you can afford the fuel to enjoy the ride. 2.7L in Prado isn't acknowledged as a Gas Guzzler Motor IMO.

In my opinion, it depends upon in which area you want to keep the SUV, Urban Areas or the Rural ones. If you want to keep this jeep for off Roading or in the Rural Areas, go for the Diesel version because the Quality of Petrol in our Rural areas isn't good. And diesel is easily available in all the areas of Pakistan. Obviously Diesel versions have more power and fuel economy as compare to the VVTI powered Prado. my experience ,
3.0 1kz non turbo vs 2.7 petrol , 1kz had too many problems n diesel eating engine , the engine weakened in 4 years of regular use,

2.7 petrol very much responsive in surf, very much responsive even when it was loaded , good milage 6/8 km .

i personally dont like diesel engines / lots of issues i hear / ppl complain here in quetta //

i am also searchin for prado 2.7 or 3.4 petrol in 1999 model as pas.. o

Thanks a lot for ur rplies.
I want to know about driving in rural areas. I think petrol version is ideal for driving pleasure, if there is not too much use on a regular basis.

If can afford it go for petrol. Much better to drive. For off road carrying people or any hard wok diesels are better. All depends on what your use is.
