the electric shift transmission has electric solenoids in the valvebody to open oil ways to apply the required clutches, it also has no speed governor, exactly how are you planning to make this work? Are you casting your own custom valve body and rigging a governor?
Why not wire the transmission up like its supposed to be wired up.
I believe its the same old Aisin trans that was also used in the G100 charades - and it required a TCU even with carburettor engine, it would read the speedo sensor in the dash, engine coolant temperature sensor, throttle position sensor, engine rpm and gear selector lever position to activate the shift solenoids. The so called kickdown cable was there to tune the shift aggression not timing.
It was a pretty basic system - not too bad to wire up unless the TCU was "smoked" - usually caused by A/C mechanics fiddling with it with test lamps thinking it was part of the A/C.
