Default why is SPECTRA so cheap now a days

I was was searching cars under 400k I was surprised to see that even older margallas mehrans and khybers were more expensive as compared to the spectra . most of them b/w 3 lakhs and 4 lakhs. Its a bang for the buck a luxury saloon under 400k but why it is so cheap I presume parts are the problem OR ITS THE RUNNING COST ? Any experiences

Past cant be brought back ..but future can be made even better than the Past..if one wants to.. ....

Original DOHC's ones are more cheaper (well... most of them). This car is another victim of jaahil mechanics who declared it a fail.

The problem with Korean cars is that they have extremely poor after sales support. Even here in the US - try to buy a shift solenoid for the transmission - "sorry not available as spare - please buy new transmission"

in Pakistan resale builds like this.

1 - mechanic ustaad says so
2 - scrap yard has parts (there were a lot of santro/atos)

Try to buy a genuine Hyundai synchronizer ring set for the gearbox - you will get your answer.

I am a happy and satisfied customer of Kia Spectra owned it for a couple of years.. must say its worth every single penny.. its a real fun to drive comfortable and drive is super smooth speacially on highway if u had a spectra with DOHC engine... Swapped spectra's are wasted thanks to our road side mechanics.. these mechanics are the main cause of failure of this car.. i had kept it and never faced any kind of problem sourcing its parts or maintaining it..

santro discontinued in 2009 only for Pakistan due to taxes & issues with zardari govt then zardari govt ban Hyundai, now again santro available in market. now santro parts easily available, thats why santro market price going up day by day.

To give you a pleasant surprise, same spectra commanded highest OWN when launched. and it continued for one year like this. That is when Dewan lost their mind and raised prices almost equal to corolla. Afte sale was surprisingly good but here people prefer to go to road side mechanics and buy kabli parts (heck i do the same now) Engine is thirsty and most people messed them up further in failed attempts to improve consumption. Mine is still with my cousin, going strong and racking up miles.

Trying to improve the consumption from an illiterate mechanic who doesn't know the ABC's of engine is plain rubbish. I prefer 8Km/L than going to those stupids to spoil an engine worth 1 lakh...

True that but not many people think like that. Another major factor was EFI and mechanic competence. Even at dealership people used to do guess work while all the equipment and service manuals rested peacefully in cabinets. I dont blame them because they are the same frateryinty andw ent hrough same experiences as others, just got fancy jobs somehow.

I have 2005 spectra and I am extremely satisfied with it. Car is a workhorse. It is a car worth keeping. Not the market cars that you can buy and sell for profit. My car has Genuine 1.5 DOHC EFI engine and it is extremely powerful. I don't know why people keep obsessing about a the economy, my car gives me 12 KPL and 150+ per CNG fill in Islamabad. If you want more, go buy a Mehran or FX.
