Default Toyota Corolla GLi Limited Edition

Recently I get to see corolla GLI Limited ed. Co priced it 17,65 Lacs (without registration).

I wanted to seek a general opinion/advice whether its feasible to buy zero meter GLI LIMITED ED model at this time (priced about 1.8+ million) while the new model of corolla is just round the corner.

As per my understanding, new model Toyota Altis will be launched with 1.8 engine in june 2014 and after that GLi 1.6 engine AT and MT along with XLi 1.3 engine will be launched in Sept 2014. Prices will be 2 lakh more in XLi variant than the current XLi since it will be 1.3. GLi however will be 1.6 with no 1.3 option so price difference might go up by 4 lakh than current GLi and Altis will be 25 lakh.
I actually bought toyota corolla GLi in 2008 April for 9,99,000 and in Sept 2008 the new corolla GLi was launched with 14,00,000 price. I sold that car for 12,30,000 in Feb 2011 with 38,000KM.
So basically since this most probably would be last 1.3 GLi and the new version is going to be expensive i think you should go for the car however getting a Limited Edition is totally your personal choice.

Buy a 2011 June XLi used for 1.3M.

Buying new this time is waste of money.

Straight drop of 200,000 in market price when the new shape will launch in June.

Same what happens in August 2008 when people were buying old shape XLi for 1.1M.

but this kind ov price drop is temporary for corollas, from personal experience, we have sold many corollas at or more than invoice price two years after(like to change the workhorse every two years or 30k whichever comes first). last car we sold was pre facelift 2010 gli, 20.5k driven, 2010 model, minor dents and touchups required and sold at exact invoice price.

Bro, in your personal opinion, the point @brad jus mentioned (about loosing ariund 200k), would that be possible after I try to resell 1.8 mil car after 1 year when new corolla gets launched meanwhile?

Bro, I've never bought or resold a Toyota before hence I'm not sure how much I'd loose if I buy one today n resell some time after launch of new corolla 2014.

price of current corolla would drop temporarily for few months when the new shape is launched 'cause of the bherrchall factor of pakistan as everyone would try to blackmail you into selling your car cheap because new shape has destroyed the value of ur car, but eventually ur car will regain its actual value so just, still it'll fetch more money compared to honda city. only once corolla has disappointed me in its resale value(cuz i have one in diesel version and people mostly opt for petrol due to option of installing cng in it), so i haven't sold it yet and it provided me great savings in fuel in winter when cng was closed as it's more efficient than petrol vehicles....

It does not go like that in KHi here 2009 GLi sells for 1.15M & new shape XLi sells for 1.3M.

Only the ECOTEC versions are 50?K expensive because they are no longer in production.

No shortage of any kind of Corolla here.

    Axio sells for 1.4M.

and how's the market of axio as compared to prius cuz i see more prius in sialkot than corolla axio although both belong to different categories(prius being priced higher)???

If you are Buying an Xli as some users are suggesting then you should also buy a new pair of sneakers (athletics shoes) as well. When driving a XLI it's better to open the door and stop your car with your shoes rather than applying the brakes.

Either buy a used Gli or wait for the corolla. If you live in a city and don't have too many issues with fuel consumption then buy a reborn.

    Noted :-) thanks bro
Btw, that's a good one (I.e. stopping xli with sneekers) tells me about the quality of corolla :-)
