    Default SWIFT engine washing....].

    SALAM Friends..
iam posting this thread for them who wants to to clean their cars efi engines (city-swift-mehran euro ii-corolla etc)
and are confused that how to clean engine in a proper way.
so first if engine is xtremely dirty than start with surf mixture+petrol .
just go to any servise station and ask servise guy to wash ur engine by just surf+petrol mmethod is to mix surf with petrol but dont use even a single drop of water and wash it with pressure air +petrol and surf.
2nd after cleaning engine with surf and petrol leave ur car for 15-20 mins after that another half liter of petrol with 3-5 spoons of oil i personaly used gear which was kept in my car but make sure it is unused and new.mix petrol and oil shake it well in a bottle and apply it on ur car engine it will be like new and will shine like a diamond
(if ur car engine is not extremely dirty then just wash it by petrol with oil mixture ) and u can even apply this at ur home)
ITS NOT necesory to use presure air with 2nd point (oil and petrol) i washed my engine recently pics are coming.
    thankx.
the first 4 pics are after engine is washed and the 1pic is before the wash just check the diffrnce...

The diesel and oil makes your engine bay look shiny and give you a very false impression. Oil / petrol / Diesel is extremely dangerous for your car. Honestly speaking, I do not see any car manufacturer's mentioning anything about getting engine cleaned with oil OR even water. We clean it for out own satisfaction , though it is not recommended as a routine maintenance procedure.

If you really want to clean it then just get a good engine degreaser. It hardly costs around 400 rupees. Spray it on your car's engine and tell the service station guy to clean your engine ONLY. Your car engine would be clean and remain so for the next 6 months at least.

There are 2 parties on PW- The one who use Detailing, Parhe likhe products and me/others who just let the car wash walas do their job

Went to get Swift tuned today, Mechanic( More like junior) started removing the petrol rubber hose, that made my blood boil. Why would someone do that?!! I asked him why? " Sir, Gari ka engine bay saaf karna hay"... I asked him nicely to re-attach the hose and leave it as it is.

Then theres me who doesnt bother at all. A dirty working engine is better than a shiny dead one. My car is a tool for transport, I dont like to fiddle with it unless I am servicing it. Thats why I bundle all jobs together and do all at once when its jacked up and panels are already removed unless its air filter change etc.

First off u should have never cleaned the engine when it was HOT...i also own a swift and i have cleaned the engine only when its cold..and this desi mixture treatment is better off used on old cars like really old...the new cars have max plastic and rubber parts which will get really hard and crack very soon if u keep doing this.....cleaning the swifts engine first requires removing the AIR INTAKE box which u did not remove the main dust/dirt/ grease is under there..then u need to secure the ECU that is right next to the battery as the wiring is under it....i also removed the battery and found 90% of the acid results under the battery..cleaned it off the paint of the plate was removed due to the acid and repainted it to the stock black color...u also have to secure the sensors the fuse box etc....its alot harder once u consider these things....else u can do it the desi way and get the results after a few months when the grips and other plastic parts get damaged...

Theres a Pakistani guy I know who bought a corolla here - (he calls it 2D) - every week or so he would roll up to the self service carwash, spray down the engine with washing detergent and diesel fuel and proceed to wash the engine. He burnt the alternator and blew some ignition coils

Rolled it to toyota for warranty - they refused to change it after seeing traces of the "wash" - His argument was that "in Pakistan we do this all the time and it never fails - this is fektary fault"

    How do I know this.

The service advisor booking it in knows me by name - he's also Pakistani btw.

there should be a plastic plate under the battery with a drain spout.

if you really are worried about "dust" then find a spray bottle and fill it with soap and water, lightly spray and clean off the dust. But might as well never drive the car too - as the car rolls down the road it will gather dust etc. Its pretty normal.

Use proper caution and products to clean such items, e.g. you do not want to clean aluminium engine parts with alkaline cleaners, they will corrode aluminium. The usual answer I had in Pakistan was "kuch nahi hota"

My patience runs out at that point and I automatically revert to "mute" - I dont want to argue with such people.

zulfiqar bhai thats what shocked me that i didnt find the plastic plate....i bought one for it then that day...and i dont care about dust etc its daily runner but after 40,000kms i think it deserves a proper wash..and yes i understand about the aluminium parts i just wipe off the dust with a blower weekly and only washed it once and still clean...

suzuki tends to forget that, mostly because when these cars are shipped to showrooms, the fuel tanks and batteries are removed. The installing mechanic usually finds those trays to be too much work.
